12oz, twist-off, bottle. clear light copper color. foamy off white head. A definite aroma of malts. Flavor is of sweet corn wort. Surprisingly way too sweet! Finish is balanced by a small amount of hops. And then there is... nothing.

This was the second of two free, plastic-cup Mich samples I had at a convention I was working. The other cup was the Mich Ultra regular, and that was so bad I figured the Amber had to be better. Boy, was I wrong. Absolutely the only thing this has going for it is the amber color, which doesn’t look too bad. I found remnants of a minute head, and a little bit of lacing from it. Small, fizzy bubbles, for the same ginger-ale effect found in the Ultra regular. "Full-bodied" the propaganda says. Maybe, if the body they mean is Kate Moss. It was the thinnest stuff I have ever consumed in the guise of a beer. Low carbonation despite the bubbles, flat as a board. No aroma at all. No flavor at all. Alcoholic kick as light as the tap of a butterfly’s wing. Why on earth are people rating this higher than Michelob Ultra? Third percentile? In what beer universe? I would rather die than drink Bud again, but I would rather have Bud than this amber dishwater. A good root beer has loads more flavor.

Pours a medium amber with a fairly large head. Pretty big carbonation. Aroma and flavor is mildly sour malts, grains, caramel. It isn’t horrible so I am not going to slam it just because it is brewed be AB. It is quite average but still pretty drinkable.

While this is by no means a good beer, I do consider it to be one of the best light beers. A lovely clear amber color is about all it has going for it. It has a thin, watery taste and faint lemony sour smell.

Pours clear amber with a malt nose and and more deeper malt sweetness on the palate. Better than the regular version.

Bottle. Rated next to the regular version. Pours a clear light amber with off white fizzy head that disapears quickly. Aroma is much fuller than the regular version and has some caramel malt notes in it. Flavor is also increased, however does not fail to disapoint greatly, just as the regular version does. Has some maltiness and a touch of sweet caramel. Overall, another waste of beer space but a vast improvement over the plain version of Ultra.

Darker color but not much flavor to speak of. Lemon seltzer water with a touch of beer. Highly carbonated but empty tasting.
