OzarkElmo (117), Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA Aug 16, 2009 From bottle to shaker Aug 13, 2009. Pours a light clear amber with minimal head, diminishing. Well, let’s just say it is what it is: a very light beer with a bit more pizzaz and flavor than regular ultra. A clear choice over its bland sister if these are the only two you have to choose from. Other than that - well I just would not purchase. superdude1979 (60), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 13, 2009 Pretty bland beer. Nothing real special here. If you are into a healthy lifestyle, yet you cannot sacrafice beer than I guess this is the swill for you. You need a reason to drink this beer, mine was it was on sale. Seriously, this beer give you a tiny nit of flavour at the start and dies, no aftertaste or anything. But hey did I mention it is good for those with an active lifestyle who still want to consume beer? rlaw (43), USA Aug 11, 2009 Bottle. Best thing about this beer is the color: a nice amber. Very little head. Not much aroma: a little malt, some fake sweetness. That’s pretty much the flavor too. It kinda, sorta tastes malty, but also a bit metallic and skunky. At least the mild skunkiness adds some flavor. Can’t say I’m disappointed since my expectations very virtually nil. Refreshing, I suppose, but not very satisfying. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Aug 9, 2009 Pours an off-white head that fades quickly to nothing with a clear, copper colored body. Smells floral like apples. Flavor has a sort of dark characteristic, like almost roasted. Thin. ben4321 (960), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 1, 2009 Overall Impression:
If I need a beer to drink during a Marathon (that’s Ultra’s selling point right?) I guess this would be the one... Onslow (174), Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA Jun 20, 2009 I would never have tried this if it wasn’t for Ratebeer - but I wanted a brew I hadn’t evaluated before and at the local gas station / C-Store this was about it.
I’m pleasantly surprised ... Light amber beer with a thin and fizzy head, aroma of malt (yes - malt) and faint hops. Slightly malty flavor at the start with a mild touch of hops in the finish. For the genre, it’s very good. Extra point for the respectable ABV level, something missing from most light brews. (Of course, I only drink beer for the taste and flavor.) Gosh - maybe I should try the raspberry pomegranate tutee fruity Ultra next... bonr (1), Florida, USA does not count May 23, 2009 If you have to drink a lite beer, this one almost feels like a real beer. Taste isn’t bad, kick is strong!
