Quite a fruity/sweet malty aroma, not that bad considering the source.
In taste it is sweet, highly carbonated, slight beer taste, very soda-like in mant aspects reminds me of the cans of "Bass Shandy" i used to get as a kid back in the UK..but that was 0.5% this is 5% really?
Light water filled mouthfeel.
To be honest this wasnt quite as bad as I expected..if it were hot outside and iwas working this would be ok. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Apr 24, 2006 This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing white colored bubbles that left behind a transparent softly carbonated caramel brown colored body and a poor lacing. The aroma was malty with a mildly astringent off note. The mouth feel was mildly tingly from start to finish. The flavor was thin with a mild malt hop note and a mild light brown malty note in the aftertaste. Turtboy (120), Lucasville, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 22, 2006 Malty taste dominates this brew. The finish is very metallic also. Better than most light beers however. At 104 cals. per bottle it is a wise calorie spend if you are dieting...it is beer with a 5%abv...not too bad of a taste, and it cuts a few of those nasty carbs and calories out of the mix. If you are watching your weight this beer is a good choice...if you are not worried about the "gut" then go for something a little hearty, like a Samuel Smith’s Oatmeal Stout...yum! Dark honey body with a thick foamy head resulting from an aggressive pour. Nose is metallic and reminds me of the smell of a brewery bottling line-lubricating oil, dust, cardboard, and spilt beer. Taste-tastes like bud light with a touch more malt. They went very light with the hops and heavy with the water. The finish is sharp and metallic with some artificial sweetener notes. Not really offending taste wise, certainly more bold than its Ultra brother. Last flavors are corn, apple, cardboard, must. Lactic sour milk finish. Not bad enough to make me cuss, but not good. crap Cornfield (4926), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA

Gold, not amber, with a filmy head, it’s slightly maltier than the regular ultra. (Whoopie!) Bereft of hops, it has a watery, mineral finish.

Never again. Regular Ultra has no taste, but this beer simply tastes terrible. It starts with a harsh, offensive, bite that gets worse as the beer worms. | 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Apr 10, 2006 Copper color with a taller slowly diminishing bleached canvas colored head. An interesting head in that every bubble seems to be the same size. Light resin, white grapes and a hint of malt in the aroma. Very dry flavors, perhaps a touch of caramel and husky grains. Fairly watery and somewhat fizzy in feel. A slight grain and grape flavor returns in the linger. Why bother.
