Now we’ve given it an ULTRA makeover with ULTRA Light Cider, a less sweet, lower calorie alternative to traditionally flavored malt beverages and ciders. WTF is this shit!?!? Are you seriously going to call this cider, and get away with it? This is more like sparkling water with an apple-flavored Jolly Rancher dissolved in it. There is a hint of apple, and this tastes unlike any commercial cider I’ve tasted, nor like the ciders I’ve made myself. Very bland, with a touch of generic, lightly sweet apple. Very boring. It took the minds of the Michelob brand to ruin cider this badly. If you buy a jug of apple juice, throw in a cup of white sugar, then either leave it open or throw in half a pack of RedStar bread yeast, you’d probably get a better result than Michelob Light Cider.

This is the only alcoholic beverage yet that DOES NOT interfere with my allergies! It takes 1.5x as much to get the effects of normal beer, but since it does not make me stuffed up, no headaches, it is well worth it and worth the price! I have tried other gluten free ciders, but they still stir up my allergies. Taste-wise is okay, kinda like drinking a light apple cider, but I also enjoy the low calorie and low ’filling’ feeling you normally get from even a light beer. Carbonation is minimal, less burping. Great stuff if you can find more than one 6 pack!

I have not had other cider beers before, but love this. I like that it is not super sweet like wine coolers. Overall, light flavored drink, and b/c I am a light weight not too strong.

I am somewhat forgiving of malt liquors that taste like Jolly Ranchers because, hey, at least they get you drunk. This garbage is just worthless though. It smells like a zero calorie apple candy mixed w/ soda water and has an odd touch of watermelon rind. I very strongly advise against drinking this--unless you need the tick then it’s totally cool.

12 oz. bottle at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten in St. Louis. Pours a light piss yellow with a white head. Has a huge artificial sweetener character, and I found out they use Stevia. Makes sense. There’s just not much apple character here. Just that fake sugar shit. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation. Not much there.

Bottle at the Biergarten. Pours a clear very pale yellow with a light grain hue and no head whatsoever. Aroma has a green candied apple note that is sweet and dominates. Flavor has ton of sweet apple with a touch of green apple tartness.

Bottle shared by frank at StL brewery. Pour is very clear barely yellow with no head. Aroma is a yet green apple and sugar. Taste is horribly sweet and dry at the same time with green apples. Horrid.

Clear 355ml twist off bottle at the inbev st. Louis facility. Literally a step darker than water. Smell is apple jello. Flavor is artificially sweet? Faint Apple. Just miserable.

Bottle shared by Bob. Aroma is green Jolly Rancher and dry yeast. Pours super thin and bubbly with a soda pop fizzy head. Taste is watered down green Jolly Rancher with light soda taste and a sour apple finish. Very sweet tasting without a sweet mouthfeel. Met my expectations.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2014 Bottle. A- Apples, sweet. A- Light body, clear liquid, no head. T- Green apples, sweet, slightly sour. P- Light body, average texture, high carbonation, sweet tart finish. O- A good cider. Champagne like. A little tart but easy to drink and very refreshing just when lounging around. I wouldn’t buy this, but when offered one I wouldn’t turn it down.

Rated on 6-13-2012. This cider has a very small fizzy white head, transparent body and fizzy carbonation. The aroma is green apples and sweet. The flavor is artificial green apples, sweet and dry. The mouthfeel is bubbly and this cider is light-medium bodied. This is not a good tasting cider and I do not recommend trying it.
