The beer selection- unacceptable, but expected. This one is an unappealing clear gold color in a clear bottle. The aroma is a sweet, candy-like raspberry, and maybe just a little of the pomegranate that makes up the second half of the title. The nice thing about the artificially sweet aroma is that it masks the underlying skunkiness of the beer. Some of the beer comes through in the flavor and if you’ve ever had a Mich Ultra, you know it’s not too strong. Most of the flavor is more like children’s cough syrup- sweet in an artificially-flavored way, like a candy version of the fruit flavor they’re aiming for held back by medicinal notes- in this case, bad beer. Light bodied, a little sticky. Not good, not good at all. MrBeerFanatic (356), jamestown, New York, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Had this a while back but can remember it tasting watered down with slight flavors of fruit and grass. Not something I would recommend for anyone, not even the ladies. zach8270 (2087), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Oct 21, 2009 (bottle - 12 oz) Clear gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light and fruity with some very slight hints of raspberry. Couldn’t really smell the pomegranate. Flavor begins with a nice and sweet fruity flavor but disappears into a dry and grassy middle. A fruity blast comes at the middle of dry and fake pomegranate but finishes with a grassy and corny flavor. FlssmrBrewAlum (1116), Lisle, Illinois, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 4/20 | Oct 13, 2009 Sampled at the Tap Room (Chicago, IL) compliments of Katie and Clint. Blind tasting. Pours a yellow clear pour, small bright white carbonation driven head that dies quickly, barely films or clings to the corners. Aromas are red berries, sweeter sugary appeal, stale grains, and a touch of skunkiness. Not too great. Initial is the same, red cough syrup sweetness and harshness, no natural fruit, all artificial candy cough drop flavor with stale cereal grains, a touch of skunkiness, and water. The flavors die out, with a bit of harsh cough syrup remaining on the palate. Not one for the books. Rciesla (3610), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Oct 6, 2009 Mix a 6, this had the best aroma of them all. Still the same pale golden body white head, but a nicer pome and raz aroma while still light even in the aroma, its a disappointment that this faint but pleasantry didn’t carry into the flavor.
