jcr (852), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Very sweet Belgian strong ale, but the sweetness is held in check for the most part by a nice bitter/tart finish and a bite from the alcohol. Clear yellow body. Average size small white head that diminishes. The aroma is lightly bready with orange citrus, lemon and pineapple notes and hints of coriander and honey. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter and moderately acidic. Off-taste of pencil lead along with apple juice. Peppery, slightly alcohol finish. Comfortable warming. Medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation.
jeffwilliams11 (275), hooterville, Michigan, USA Oct 5, 2008 on tap at hopcat. freaking delicious!!! yeasty, malty mildly spicy. very full body for a beer that is almost see-thru. taalhiker (111), Dayton, Ohio, USA Sep 23, 2008 From bottle. Part of May beer tasting event.
Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, yeast, and spice.
The taste is sweet yet citrusy with a touch of spice. Not as good as the original beer though. WeeHeavySD (1865), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Sep 18, 2008 12oz from Jimbowood I believe, shared with my girlfriend Cyn pours orange with a bright white ring. Nose is kinda gross. Taste is overly spiced, but bright. Cibolo (1), Texas, USA does not count Sep 15, 2008 Pours a clear yellow, with a thick white head. Flavor was yeasty, like super market sour dough bread, yet light and sweet. The aroma has a slight sour yeast smell. keepersj12 (423), Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA Sep 11, 2008 Not at all what you would expect from a Belgian strong. It’s like a Bud Lite version of the style. It has a very pale yellow color with a very large foamy head. It is refreshing though.
