TheBeerOrg (1371), Kentucky, USA Apr 11, 2008 Pours orangish with a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, peppery phenolics, pear, and some spice. Taste is pale malt, yeasty pear, toffee. Medium to full bodied, lightly sticky. Not very impressive.
bhensonb (2737), Woodland, California, USA Jun 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Beer Geek. Copper amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma of citrus and a little spice. Near medium body with rather creamy carbonation. Flavor is rather malty sweet, with some citrus and likely coriander. Seems to be a lot of caramel, and a lot of citrus/coriander to temper it. Despite that it still seems not very bitter. It’s just the wrong type of sweet for a Belgian in my view, and a little more hop might have been an improvement. It’s slowly growing on me though. azlondon (463), Greater London, England Jun 30, 2008 Appearance: Dark, redish brown. Not much head.
Aroma: Fruity and malty.
Taste: Fruity and fresh, some hops and malt. Some aftertaste. Flowers, pollen, honey.
Info: 250ml bottle, 22/11-2006, 114/500 thegreenrooster (1447), St.louis, Missouri, USA Apr 18, 2008 Pour is a cloudy/murky brown with a small white head. Aroma is where this one get the bad marks. Almost nothing with just a small whiff of sweet malts. Flavor is much better with coriander and spice with a molasses after taste. Very thick swallow and it gets better in all categories as it warms. An ok beer with its average qualities. pnista (863), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Mar 10, 2008 Pours a light coppery orange (standard bock sort of color I guess) with a healthy creamy white head. The nose is lightly sweet with strong toast, some fruit, and a hint of that coriander. Not a huge fan. The mouthfeel is slightly slipperier and more viscous than average, but not much. The flavor is kind of crappy actually. Toasted lightly acidic mess. Very dry finish. It tastes like some other beer I don’t like... but I cannot put my fingers on it. Overwhelming yeast in the finish.
