Bottled. Well, it certainly smells nice, but this became the first of 3 "Michigan Raspberry" beers I tried this day that were kind of a letdown. This had a pale pink cast to it that detracted from the nice berry nose. Can't say I see much Belgian in it, and sorry to say it's close to a Leinenkugel Berry Weiss.
But I do want to report that Celis was purchased by Michigan Brewing and is now made in Webberville. Being as most of the Celis production goes back to Texas, I would be uncertain about the label referring to it as a "malt beverage with natural flavors." Actually had this bottle right at the brewery taphouse; they brought it out because it was off the taps.

"pretty much a miss on this one...raspberry starburst and an odd vanilla candy like aroma and flavor. not a lot redeeming here. odd light pink color...feel to prickly for a beer so lacking in real flavor. "

pours a hazy yellow color with a medium sized white head. the aroma is sweet raspberries, floral, and yeast. the taste was much of the same but the raspberry flavor is very artificial, almost like cough syrup flavor.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, light gold, tall white head with a very slight pink tint..... Hyper-foamy, even with a careful pour....and the wait is not worth it. Imitation, watery raspberry aroma...stale....wheat. Taste is flat, lifeless and watery....."raspberry" A little musty....almost tart, but the water dumbs even that down...like a raspberry flavour packet added to a bad ultra-light beer.... not good.

12 oz. bottle lost in the depths of the cellar long enough to show "brewed & bottled by Celis Brewery Inc., Austin Texas" on the label. Took a chance and opened it to a gratifying hiss, then an active pour to a Czech-pils glass, with abundant, rising bubbles, numerous, crumb-like, dark floaties suspended in the cloudy, orangy gold liquid, fluffy, white, persistent head foam, and clingy ribbons & spots of lacing. The aroma was tart, lightly vinegary, vinous-like, raspberry scent, and a hint of sweet biscuit. Light bodied, effervescent, and dry, the taste was tart, nearly sour, unsweetened raspberry juice, and "grandma’s attic", yeasty funk, with moderate, earthy, rindy, hop bitterness that melded in, and a little saltiness on the finish. Well past it, but somewhat entertaining as it accidently morphed into a "little out of control", but palateable, Sour Ale, unblended Lambic, or at the least, a tasty probiotic!

12 oz undated bottle purchased today. A: This poured hazy golden amber with a faint pinkish tint. Huge, over-sized, foamy white head completely filled a pint glass even with a gentle pour. It took several pours, and some drinking, to get all 12 ozs into the 16 oz glass. S: It smelled of Belgian yeast, artificially flavored raspberry candy, and some floral soap. T: It tasted at least as bad as it smelled, although like the smell, it was not entirely bad... but mostly bad, including being too sweet. M:Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation; a touch oily O; improperly carbonated, unappealing and artificial flavor, and unenticing odor. Avoid.

12 ounce bottle poured a pale yellow color, aromas of raspberries, light spice, some old wheat, and a touch of sweetness. Flavors are huge raspberries and stale bread. Decent beer overall had this bottle for 3 years now should of drank this when it was fresh.

12oz bottle, dated 9/4/10. Very little white head, fades to nothing. Bubbles on the side of the glass. Clear pale yellow orange color. No lace. Decent raspberry flavor for the ABV, some musty belgian funk to it. More pronounced carbonation, dry finish. Decent tart sweet taste. Not exactly refreshing or drinkable, but surprisingly not horrible considering the age of the bottle I acquired. Not something I want to finish, though.

bottle. Poured pale pink with a white frothy top. The aroma is sweet with a vanilla icing sugar note. Mouthfeel is light but creamy. Nice sweet fruity flavour that doesn’t taste too artificial. A bit yeasty finish.

Pours a pale pinkish red with a white head. The nose is very sweet. Light raspberry fruitiness and tartness with a lot of bread and vanilla. Smells very much like cream soda. Faint butterscotch candy notes. The flavor is dominated by the same cream soda character. The raspberry is there, but it’s more of an accent to the sweetness of the butterscotch, caramel, and vanilla notes.
