TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA Oct 15, 2006 12 oz bottle. I love the fact the Michigan Brewing bought the rights to the Celis labels, and recipes, and has kept this classic witbier alive. This is a good example of witbeir, but some of the Celis magic is lost in my opinion. I remember the Austin, TX version of this beer being much more aromatic and flavorful. This beer pours to a very hazy, very pale, yellow color, with a thick, white head, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is inviting with light spicy aromas of corriander, and orange peel. The palate is soft, with good tart, and thirst quenching wheat malt flavor. Celis White ends with some more good wheat malt up front, and then ends with light spicy and orange flavor that lingers. This is a good witbier, but I would have liked a little more corriander and orange peel in both nose and finish. Not a good as the Celis I remember, but still an enjoyable brew, and a style that is very important to the beer world, and one that should continued to be brewed and respected.
