Has this with Pop Corn and well it was a good try it really was nt the best suite for this snack. A good light beer with a small head. Liked the wheaty flavors. Good Beer wrong snack. TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Jul 1, 2006 Bottle. Clouded gold with a small white head. Nose is grainy, slightly yeasty, malted and has a light citrus note to it. Taste is slightly tart and spicy with more grains, light yeast, sweet malts and soft lemony notes. Body is light and refreshing while being slightly crisp. Finishes with more spices, yeast big grain profile and light lemon. Standard witbier but well done. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Jun 26, 2006 Am I ever amazed by the high ratings for this beer. Hazy amber with a small white head. Fairly one note aroma of wheat. Light to medium body and watery texture. One dimensional flavor, too. Simple wheat beer. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA Jun 23, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with no freshness date.
Made a good appearance, poured a cloudy pale golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin bubbly lacing, minimal amount of sticking, good witbier carbonation.
Had a tart, zesty, spicy and yeasty nose, lemon, orange and coriander with a sweet wheat malty backing.
A malty crisp, dry and smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel, good witbier drinkability.
Tart and slightly sour lemon taste with a orange zestiness throw in, coriander spiciness with a pinch of pepper, a backing sweet fruity wheat maltiness and dry yeastiness and a dry lemony and wheat malty finish, very quaffable.
I never had the Texas brewed Celis, so I can’t compare, but witbier is one of favorite styles and this passes my taste test, an excellent summertime brew, for me, hits all the right notes. And at a affordable price too.
maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 21, 2006 Cloudy light golden color with a medium frothy white head. Sweet spiced aroma. Light spiced aroma, slightly sour, but fairly watery. can8ianben (903), Pasadena, California, USA Jun 20, 2006 Maybe it’s because I haven’t had a Belgian White for a while, but this is a delicious beer! Nice floural bouquet, amazing smoothness with a tangy bite. Just really refreshing, full of flavour, and nicely balenced. Probably the best witbier for the price that I have had. thebigpopper (7), USA does not count Jun 18, 2006 Bottle. The quick and dirty: it’s as close to Hoegaarden White as I’ve tasted from an American brewer. Bravo! If you’re in Michigan and looking for a witbier, I’d highly recommend it.
