Nice floural bouquet, amazing smoothness with a tangy bite. Just really refreshing, full of flavour, and nicely balenced. Probably the best witbier for the price that I have had. thebigpopper (7), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Bottle. The quick and dirty: it’s as close to Hoegaarden White as I’ve tasted from an American brewer. Bravo! If you’re in Michigan and looking for a witbier, I’d highly recommend it. Somewhat sweet with nice citrusy flavor. Not as "in your face" as some whites/wits. I have a growler in my fridge. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2006 This bottled brew from Traverse City, MI poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to large sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a carbonated hazy yellow white colored body. The aroma was floral with fruity banana and wheat notes. The mouth feel was tingly crisp and clean from its start to its bubbly finish. The flavor was sharp with a malty backing under a banana wheat malt spice taste.

Light orange yellow color with small head. Light sour apricot and wheat flavor. Very nice body. I had the Texas Celis white about 15 years ago but don’t remember enough to rate it but this is still a well-made beer - has nice witbier characterics with a unique flavor I’ve never really gotten from other wits. One of the best American witbiers. dirtyc (173), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2006 Updated: Aug 4, 2006Ok, this is a re-rate after a previous bad bottle. The beer still pours ugly for me. A small white head atop a solid hazed body the color of a Trader Joes pineapple/orange juice mix - dark yellowy with orange tints.
The aromas are more pleasant than before. Definite oranges and clove spice. The yeast contributes to an aroma that I can’t detach from the fruitiness of ripe brie. Oh god, now I just smell cheese all the time! This must be what turned bad in the previous bottle.
Body is light and clean with some nice tart acidity imparted by the wheat. Refreshing and quaffable. No long aftertaste. Not nearly as bad as the first time around, but not my favorite in this style. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
