FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 18, 2006 Updated: Jun 30, 2006I have been looking forward to trying this one. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy bright golden color with a small white head. The aroma is strong with wheat, coriander and orange. The flavor is dry and wheaty with a spicy pepper note and fairly strong citrus. The finish is yeasty and musty. A nice example of the style. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Apr 14, 2006 Bottle- Pale cloudy yellow with a fizzy, even accross the glass, blecahed white head. Aromas of tart oranges, lemon peel, spices and wheaty grain. Tart citric flavours dominate. Subtle swwetness and floral spices are present, but it’s mostly tart from start to finish. Tart banana finish, with mild sweetness lingering. Good. sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 11, 2006 this was really weird but i liked it. definitely not a witbier, seemed a lot more like a wheat or possibly hefeweizen. candyish flavor, but quite banana/orangish as well, and pretty sour. i’d never be able to drink more than one, but novel. Zeswaft (1000), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 11, 2006 My brother has a bottle of this that was served at like 65 degrees...which was way to warm. It poured out with almost no head or bubbles...like some new glarus. The color was gold and not cloudy white like most wits are. The biggest flavor that I noticed which totally dominated was candy sugar. I was totally confused with this beer. Didn’t seem like a Wit at a all. Perhaps because it was served so warm. Plus, it’s pretty pussy in alcohol content too. WISEGUY572 (1244), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 18, 2006 Bottle. Tart citrus, dry, wheaty bready dough. Cloudy off white. Light-to-medium body, less sweet, less viscous, less spicey. Well made, but not exciting. DJMonarch (6057), Northwich, Cheshire, England Mar 15, 2006 Barrel Draught from the jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center 01/10/2005
Golden coloured with a slightly hazy appearance. Fruity banana aroma and flavour. Crisp malt finish. CharlesDarwin (1823), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Mar 6, 2006 Pours a peculiar even haze, but oiled sheening of opalsecense in straw yellow with a rim of white. Almost neon or radioactive. Aroma of rich wheat, lemon and a hint of clovey esters. A little sweetartish. Flavor is a surprising slightly sour tart wheat, with rich long lasting lemon, backed with a hint of aromatic hives and light almonds. Finish is lingering and sweet, leaving a tart smack on the roof of your mouth. xproudfoot (729), Paleolithic, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 3, 2006 Bottle. Wheaty pb+j sandwich aroma with a lemony nuttiness too. Very fresh, wheat field clean air aroma. Cloudy gold body. could be a good one. I ended up drinking this one really warm. banana interfered with my thought process. it tastes really alcoholic and bready. Yech. This one needs to be served cold and drank more quickly, perhaps in warmer weather. I didn’t like the underlying flavor of this one. There is definitely a dose of citrus but it tastes positively rotten at room temp.
