SuIIy (1405), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Feb 28, 2005 not a bad drink. goes down easy, provides some good flavors and I cant say I was disapointed. bottling was pretty cool, no label, just an orange sticker that said "white" on each bottle of the six pack. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Feb 22, 2005 Musky wheat aroma without any spice or fruit -- to my nose. Functional label, hazy pear gold. A bit brothy, some fruit, yeasty, some butterscotch candy, not much spice. Medium mouthfeel, quick finish. This isn’t a 78 percentile beer, as it’s currently ranked. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 14, 2005 Thanks to beer handy for this. Pours dark straw, with a fizzy white head. Nice aroma of citrus, some malt, yeast. Tastes smooth, refreshing, with a great citrus wheat, and slight spice presence. Very good. Beerly There (20), Oregon, USA Feb 3, 2005 Nice beer. It’s hard to say how it compares to the original which was a decent beer before Pierre Celis sold a majority interest in his brewery to Miller. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Feb 2, 2005 clear, straw-yellow color, active carbonation, big, fluffy white head, very nice looking...
Aroma: a burst of coriander bombs the nose, accompanied by citric fruit, orange and a hint of lemon, beautiful combination, nearly ethereal, but definitely uplifting and lively. Gorgeous.
Great blast of spice and citrus on the tongue, lush, creamy texture...big fruit, nice hops, just enough tasty malt. Body is light to medium, finish ias a bit complex and lemony.
Classic witbier. Very tasty, and extremely drinkable.
I could down this by the case-ful in the summertime.
shaeffbser (70), Vail, Colorado, USA Jan 31, 2005 Yeasty floral citrus nose. Straw yellow color with frothy white head. Light yeasty sweet flavor. Palate is crisp with lots of carbonation and a smooth finish. Overall real solid beer with no flaws, but not outstanding. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jan 28, 2005 Huge thanks to Kawa for sending me this one. I’ll show my age a bit here, and mention that I was a huge fan of the original back in the day. Michigan in my opinion has done a nice job recreating the brew. Huge nose of coriander, with a touch of orange and wheat, the classic combination, just pumped up a notch. Light hazy yellow, bit of gold, OK head that faded to a ring. Coriander and wheat wrap around each other, finishing with a citric twang, all melded together perfectly. This was, and now is, one of the very best witbiers brewed in my opinion. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Dec 16, 2004 Bottle: Clear yellow with a touch of haze and hardly any head. Orange and coriander in the nose, prickly carbonation and a medium body. Starts and ends with a touch of sweetness and some acidity.
