Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

This wonderful beer has thankfully been revived and is available in Texas. Puts Hoogarden to shame. 10/07 Celis beers brewed by Michigan Brewing Co. are no longer available in Texas. Repeated attempts to contact the brewery were unsuccessful. Our bad...

Pours a bright yellow color. Aroma and flavor are mild and decent. Spicy and fruity. Body is decent. Overall this is ok.

Pours a pale straw color with a white fluffy head that leaves fine lacing down the glass. Aroma of orange peel and coriander. In the mouth, a slight tartness, some phenolics, orange peel and dryness in the finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Cloudy, pale yellow colour, with thin-ish white head. Aroma is fresh, citrusy, with melon in there as well, I think. Flavor is sour and citrus and some acidity. Light, with a watery, carbonated, mouthfeel. Not bad.

Not bad, a very good hot summer quaffer. A little bit bigger mouthfeel than what I was expecting, but not unbalanced. Rich and full of flavor, and very high in acidity and that makes it a good palate cleanser. Clean and crisp and a bit chalky but overall quite enjoyable.

One of my favorite beers. There’s not much negative I can say about this except that it tasted far better when it was brewed in Austin. Now it’s too crisp & clean - less flavor. Still it’ll get good marks from me just for old times sake.

Quite cloudy with a slight sourness.A little bit overpowering and certainly not one of the best of this style I have tried.

Pretty good, but a little weak. Overall, though, a nice USA made substitute for the real deal over in Belgium.
