cquiroga (370), Sylmar, California, USA Jan 24, 2004 1/24/04. Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, obtained in a trade on RateBeer 11/15/04. Pours a cloudy pale yellow, no real head but decent lacing on the edges of the glass. Not a fan of the color, though. . . Aroma is pretty strong, but not all that fantastic. Very straightforwardly wheaty and yeasty, a little sweet and surprisingly spiced- a little bit of cinnamon and pie crust, very similar to some pumpkin ales I've had. I must say, the appearance and aroma remind me quite a bit of cloudy piss, and I'm frightened and ashamed to say that this is still a tolerable drinking beverage. Initial taste has a pretty sharp stinging carbonation and undertaste of harsh yeast, a blanket of slightly tart and sour banana and apricot, and of course the wheat. Some lemony flavors, but not natural lemon-- more like an artificial sour lemon taste. Some spicy hoppiness in there that lasts into the finish, and I can feel the coriander on this little guy as well. Mouthfeel is decent, thin-to-medium body and with a slight creaminess and slickness to it that makes you really feel when it leaves your mouth. Bottom sort of just drops out into the finish, not that elegant, but then the wheat, coriander, and slightly sweet citrus flavors linger around for quite awhile. Decent brew, and I'd imagine it's pretty refreshing during the summer months, but I'm not a real big fan. Cartoonkhaki (1149), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Jan 4, 2004 White yellow cloudy colour. Sour flavour of wheatiness spicy very good. Wheaty aroma. aobecksy (661), Middle of no where, Ohio, USA Dec 16, 2003 Cloudy pepperiness with hints of lemon. A bit weak and overly carbonated--I waited for it to warm but it didn't get any better. brewblackhole (1367), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA Nov 24, 2003 Very beautiful light orange yellow color, aroma however was not attractive at all, smelled like sour dough yeast and cheese, and tasted exactly the same, except for a tart sour lemon aftertaste. Not my type at all mikeben (344), Naperville, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2003 I think many people including myself were confused by the listing thus I moved my vote to this one and so should you. The box of the so called retired one is the same thus the confusion.

Complex sweet good as a great meal or a great date. I have waited to years to try this and was not disapointed. Can you tell I like this beer! jsquire (2086), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Nov 17, 2003 Cloudy yellow out of the bottle with a sharp spice nose with odd hints of urine. Nice pepper and corriander, almost cinnamon spiciness. Sweet lemonade/orange juice backbone. Better than I remember it, but I did not like it a decade ago. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Nov 6, 2003 (Bottle) Poured a cloudy pale yellow with a medium frothy head. Had a light body with medium complexity. Descent American version of a Belgian white. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Oct 29, 2003 Lighter wit, but cloudy, slightly peppery and thirst quenching. Lemony/orange nose is nice. Gets a bit gritty at the finish.
