Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Never accuse this brewery of being boring. This is a big wheat beer. Same school as Adventius but in the freshmen class. I didn't care overall for the beer but it has a great presentation. Lots of cloudy yeastyness and a off-sour finish. Not my style but hats off to the brewer for letting me try it.

Oregon Brewers Fest. Tasted this one toward the end of the festival on the third day. Could it have gone bad? I just wasn't impressed. Flat and nothing too it. Might need to give this one another try when I'm in Michigan visiting the in-laws.

Sour. Light yellow color. Very spicy in taste, but certainly not a diverse or complex taste.

Underrated beer from Michigan Brewing. This beer just goes to show that a good recipe goes a long way. Hats off to Peter Celis. Lovely aroma of lemon and orange. Appearance is yellow and cloudy. There was aa head, but it is almost completely dissipated. Flavor is very tasty and somewhat complex. There is tasty yeast, spice, orange and esters. Very nice Belgian White.

Light gold color. Large Head. Aroma is malty, fruity and sweet yet there is a touch of a slightly burnt undertone (?) A medium bodied wit. Malts are sweet and fruity. There are hints of orange and coriander. Rolls around on the tongue with an aggressive spiciness and lively carbonation. Nice. Hops are a touch spicy. Well balance. Lively, bright and flavorful. Very drinkable. Hope this one gets into wider distribution Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Has a lighter, pale straw color, moderate cloudiness. Good amount of white head and a crisp lemon/orange aroma. Tastes of lemon and coriander, with some bitter orange notes and even some yeast flavors. Has a medium body and a very even, fresh flavor. The balance on this beer was wonderful, and it was able to provide ample flavor, while not being too heavy. Has the usual clove and banana but it is not overpowering. Not as much yeast or flavor as Oberon, less sweet and more balanced than Whitsun, alot like a Hoegaarden without the candy sweetness and huge coriander flavor. I thought this beer had a perfect balance between some of the heavier wits out there and some of the flavorless/watery ones. Very refreshing. Rerate. Bottle. Maybe it's just because I'm trying an older bottle versus my previous summer tap experience, but this isnt quite the same, a more sour old flavor, less body and a muddled light banana/clove flavor. Not as impressive, but I'll try it again next summer.
