COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990’s, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Do you know Watou’s Bier Blanche? Although it has been awhile, I would say that Celis has this impression. It sure don’t taste like no average texas beer. It has a delightful vanilla aroma but leaves you with less impression on the tongue. I heard they got shut down... oh well there is always Watou’s or any other wheat variety to replace it. But a good effort for America. Try again soon.

One of the best American mades. Not as cloudy as most in it class. This is one thirst quenching brew. Sure am pissed about this brewery being closed. Fantastic beers they made.

Beautiful cloudy yeasty straw yellow color with a slight head. Closed nose, remaining so with the passing of time. Slight yeasty odor only. Rather neutral whitebeer taste, refreshing - but less tasty than the Hoegaarden reference, a surprise, that! Whitebeer-foamy on the palate, but again, quite neutral. Actually this beer was a disappointment, brewed in Belgium by Br. Van Steenberge. My wife tasted it along with me and her appreciation is the same as mine: Hoegaarden white is better!

Yellow and slightly cloudy; beautiful creamy head. Aroma of sweet candy. The taste is sweet and well-balanced. The finish is a little bit short and flat.

My favorite beer. Very light & clean feeling in the mouth, with a great citrus flavor, wonderful color, and clean smell. The unfiltered look makes some people wary of the beer.
