biznizness (930), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2008 Beer of the Month club. Yum, totally solid witbier. Not spectacular or anything, but can’t say I’m disappointed to find this on my doorstep. azlondon (656), Fribourg, Switzerland Jun 30, 2008 Appearance: Yellowy grey. Lots of head, initially.
Aroma: Wheaty, lemony. Flowery. Hops. Caramel?
Taste: Pretty hopsy, not too wheaty. Flowery. Surprisingly good.
Info: 250ml bottle, 7/12-2006, 121/500 jcr (1137), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle. At first, this seemed overspiced and a little too full in the body to present a crisp taste. But the more I drank, the more I enjoyed the beer. Hazy yellow body with a short white head. The aroma was spicy (coriander) with a light toasted grain note and some citrus. The flavor was lightly to moderately sweet and moderately acidic. Upfront taste of coriander and orange peel. Finish was dry and lightly bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation.
KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Jun 8, 2008 Bottle Pours a lively golden yellow with a healthy head of white. Aroma is a nice mix of spice and grain. Flavor follows suit with the addtion of earthy tones. Average mouthfeel. Nice. Baneboot (7), USA does not count May 26, 2008 Typical of an American brewed witbier. Nice color, but almost zero head, very little carbonation. Has the typical aroma you get with many of these "BeligianStyrle" wheat beers. The tast is all coriander and spice with light body/palate. No hop pressence; absolutely no bittering finish. ndubs360 (114), portland, Oregon, USA May 26, 2008 Poured into a hoegaarden glass for amusement. I actually sampled this shortly after drinking hoegaarden and prefer it to its distant cousin. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a meringue like head. Tastes much more citrusy than the hoe, and better as well. the coriander shines brightly as well. overall this is a refreshing brew for a warm, humid spring afternoon. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA May 14, 2008 Here’s how they made this beer. They took a smoked ham that was starting to turn, boiled it in a vat of MGD for 24 hours and bottled the liquid.
If this is anything like a Belgian beer I hope I never drink another. Pungent nasty aroma. Tastes just like it smells. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA May 9, 2008 pours a transparent golden color with a nice looking head about a half inch tall. this beer almost tastes like a lager, but there is some belgian yeast flavor. almost a creamy texture in the mouth. I would probably not purchase again.
