Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Bottle poured into Hoegaarden tumbler. Remarkably similar to Hoegaarden but slightly less citrus and spice in the flavour and aroma but a little more sour.

Pretty good white. Nice pale color. Light and sour lemon taste. Very refreshing on a hot day.

12 oz bottle. Pours gold with a small white head. Slightly sweet aroma with bubble gum and coriander. Flavor is bubble gum up front, coriander, and orange peel with wheat, particularly in the finish. Very low carbonation. Okay, but definitely nothing exciting.

tap at hopcat. not my style, but this is a really great example of a witbier. the yeast really shines through, lots of malt and spice too...

Cloudy pale yellow color, little head/lace. The nose is citrus and light banana with a hint of yeast and just a pinch of spice. Banana and light roasted hops in the body. Slightly tart and dries slightly hoppy in the finish. Overall, this isn’t a very juicy example of the style, lacking in body and too dry in the finish. In my opinion, their Wheatland is much better.

Cloudy golden color, small bubbley white head.Grassy wheat aroma. The taste was weaty sweet at first the it turned to a lightly sour taste, with a mildly lemon flavor coming on at the middle and end of the taste the after taste was more of a lemon grass then anything. Not to bad a brew but there are better ones out there.

Lemon sugar nose. Some chalky tartness. Some white pepper flavors. Good, but there it is a little harsh with a dry gritty feel.

Looks like wit...nuff said. Stony, lactic, key lime aroma, with slight wiff of Diacetyl. Flavor is consistent with the aroma, with (unfortunately) noticeable diacetyl...plastic-like tongue coating. OK, except I cannot approve of ANY diacetyl in any beer ever. I do not like diacetyl at all. Get it out of my Celis white, which I really want to like!!!
