2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 GreatSatanUSA (107) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 24, 2003UPDATED: MAR 25, 2003 Celis lives again. A decent Belgian-style white. Pale, yellow, cloudy, citrusy with a malty aftertaste. Somewhat unrefined, tastes simply sweet when other subtleties would really add to the beer's character. Perhaps tinkering with the hops a bit would do the trick. I really didn't taste any of the "spiciness" that other raters refer to. Still a good beer overall though.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Tessic (744) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 11, 2012
This witbier poured a cloudy light yellow colour with a big, beautiful, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of spice, cooked veggies, dough and a little vinegar. First sip was very carbonated and somewhat watery with flavours of cinnemon, spice, vanilla and hay. Finish is spicey with flavours of cinnemon lingering on the palate.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 daknole (7194) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 30, 2012
Yellow pour, white head. Aroma is banan, coriander, yeast. Flavor is much the same, not a whole lot going on. Meh.

12 ounce bottle from Tops. Very pale hazy (not cloudy?) with lasting flat head and some lace. Coriander aroma with some lemon. Fruity lemon apricot sweetness with coriander finish almost like Indian food. Thin and a a little watery. Further confirmation that Hoegaarden is one of the best beers in the world.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Elwood (2490) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JUL 19, 2012
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from the Giant in Leesburg. It pours a hazy pale yellow with a head of rocky white foam that fills half the glass. Can you say overcarbonated? The nose has pleasant notes of yeast, coriander, lemon peel, and a touch of spice. Nice and dry on the palate with the yeast, lemon notes, and spice coming on strong. Light on the tongue with a way too much carbonation but a short finish. The flavor seems spot on, but I could use a lot less carbonation in this brew.
3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mmmbeer (1154) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 11, 2012
12 oz. bottle served in tumbler- poured a slightly dulled faint yellow color, foamy white ring around the glass for a head. Aroma of bread, yeast, and urine- ugh! Hits the mouth with a restrained body, malt has just a slight amount of wheat added perhaps, a magical various fruit ester voyage in the middle, finish is lasting and has alot of spice notes. It’s going to be interesting since at the present time, the Celis name has been bought back from the closed MI Brewing and plans to start brewing again in Austin. Highly intriguing move.
