3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 tmongoose (668) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - DEC 5, 2012
12oz bottle from orphan corner, pours a hazy dark orange with off white head. Decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrus mostly. The flavor comes across as citrus in nature. Pretty good IPA not overly bitter with hops. Has nice flavor.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 dreadnord (997) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 4, 2012
Pours hazy golden and copper with a small white head. Nose smells like overripe oranges and other citrus fruits, not much pine or other bitter smells though. Taste is rather bitter though, a little bit of sweet, but the flavor seems to be the best this thing has going for it. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean, thin body and a long finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Strangebrewer (632) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2012
bottle. Poured cloudy orange with sediment, average off-white head. Nice hop aroma, citrusy and grassy. Thick creamy mouthfeel, smooth carbonation. Malt flavour with expected grapefruit and piney hop notes. Tart sticky finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rondphoto (983) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Aroma wafts between caramel and pine hops. Pours a hazy orange amber with a head cover of globules and big sheets of lace. The taste is as advertised - lots of hops taking over a nice roasted caramel malt. The hops, though not particularly strong, linger long after the finish. Goes well with spicy food (especially Taco Bell). Too bad about the 7% abv; otherfwise it is a candidate for session drinking. Recommended.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Digital_Aura (208) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 10, 2012
355ml bottle from variety pack. Not much scent... You can smell some hops. Pours golden brown (Lovibond 10) and mostly opaque. Small head, mostly lace. Lots of particles floating around! wonderful grapefruit tang but not so much bitterness as their mackinac pale ale which was slightly better in my opinion.

Bottle. Aroma is good, hops come through, but is not overpowering. Taste is mild for an ipa these days, but that is what I like about it. Finishes smooth.

T rahis beer is making a couple hour layover in DTW much more pleasant. The seven percent alcohol is a nice bonus but getting an actual good local beer in an airport is truly refreshing. Slightly cloudy orange with a thin white head and patchy lace. Nose is mild but with a nice fresh and fruity hop character. Flavor though is rich and hoppy, on the sweet side but nicely bitter in the finish. There is a slight iced tea like astringency and a bit of fruity yeast character as well. Texture is a bit on the heavy side but this offers up enough flavor to take your time on it.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hengest (14) - Troy, Michigan, USA - MAR 24, 2012
Pints on tap at the MBC Lansing storefront pub. I chose this one because it had a good rating here, and I’m glad I did. Hazy, not quite coppery color, nice 1 finger head that lasted. Pine resiny hops, not too much, not too little, pleasantly balanced. 7 point something percent, stronger than normal session beer but I managed 3 of them regardless. Malt not as sweet as Bell’s Two Hearted. Good with the crab cakes appetizer.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (6048) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 02/23/2012. The beer is a hazy reddish-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing. The aroma consists oh hops, malt and citrus. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, earthy malt and a bit of caramel. The finish is hoppy with a short grapefruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewpub...great aroma, creamy head and dry, piney finish with citrus and floral overtones; this is a great IPA.
