I always feel like the craft beer nut-browns are trying to overdo the nutty flavors and wind up overloading the flavor receptors. This one is not the worst but when I would like to have nutty and roasty, I get hints of burnt. Would drink again but not a personal favorate. Smells fantastic.

Pours mahogany-walnut brown with a 3/4 inch head. Nice, gentle carbonation. Looks good! Some caramel in the nose, but where are teh aroma hops? The initial taste is OK the middle is short and the lingering is persistent but weak. Some Belgian lace forms. I keep looking for more, but not finding it. Some malt. Milder than most milds, and a potential thirst quencher. Neither moreish nor an ale I will seek again.

Bottle thanks to swalden28. The look is copper colored, clear, and has an off white head. The smell is caramel, malts, and nuts. The taste is sweet, caramel, and malts.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of Swalden28) Pours a clear deep amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, nuts, and light butterscotch. Flavor of nuts, caramel, cocoa, and roasted malt.

Aroma is very pleasant - nutty caramel - early fall day. It does go downhill a bit from there. Body is weak. Finish similar to throwing down a bunch of roasted holiday peanuts. Overall - better than average.

I would argue with the brewer’s characterization of full-bodied. Actually pretty hollow on my palate. A decent nose and medicore flavor give way to a beer with no backbone and no mouthfeel.

Bottle from friend. Pours a light, clear brown with off-white head. Aroma is very nice, maple and malty. Flavor of light maple & malt with a light sweetness with hints of pecan shell. Mouth feel is light-medium body but kinda watery. Overall, easy drinking, tasty beer!

(12oz bottle thanks to Swalden28) Pours clear amber with light bubbles. Nose of honey, nuts and sweet malt. Taste of sweet roasted nuts, and honey. Nice creamy sweet finish. I probably enjoyed this more than I should have, but thought it was a solid example.

Bottle thanks to Swalden28. Pours a brownish color with no head. Notes of roasted tomatoes, dark syrup, and nut shells. Watery mouthfeel and tastes like a diluted blend.
