2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Not a fully "sour" brown, and not an overly nutty brown, this is instead truly thin and incomplete. Some toasted nut character, some sort of unusual sourness that I get in several English style browns, but the palate is the killer here; light light with absolutley no...and I hate to use the word...complexity. Not recommended. Aroma is relatively nice...almonds and some sweet malt bits.

I am always willing to try any brown ale, from near or far. Saw this one in the cooler at the local grocery store in Glen Arbor, MI on our annual vacation at the Northern Michigan lakehouse. Weak brown ale aroma, thin taste and weak finish. This is a shadow of the style and not one that I will be drinking again.

Pours mahogany-walnut brown with a 3/4 inch head. Nice, gentle carbonation. Looks good! Some caramel in the nose, but where are teh aroma hops? The initial taste is OK the middle is short and the lingering is persistent but weak. Some Belgian lace forms. I keep looking for more, but not finding it. Some malt. Milder than most milds, and a potential thirst quencher. Neither moreish nor an ale I will seek again.

Yuck. Like a Long Island Ice Tea gone horribly wrong. This was so bad. Had these three distinct tastes in it then finished with the horrible lemon sour taste. Not a Nut Brown

YECH!!! After two drinks the only thing Iím trying to figure out is if the rest is going down the drain or not. Perhaps I got a bad bottle, not sure, but this stuff is AWFUL! Itís almost got a Belgian style sourness to it, but not in a way thatís complimenting. The aroma is borderline infected smelling. You can smell a bit of the toastiness through the foulness. Have you ever gotten one of those burps while drinking that bring up a bit of stomach acid and beer? Iíve put my finger on it, THAT IS WHAT THIS TASTES LIKE! No exaggeration! Sorry to the people at MBC, but this is really the pits.
P.S. The rest is going down the drain.

Are you kidding me? At first I thought that I got an infected bottle, but after reading the other ratings I realize that it was supposed to taste that way. This tastes like sour cider. Horribley undrinkable.

This beer tastes fowl...it was bitter-sour. It had the worst aftertaste, almost like gasoline. I canít believe that there could actually be repeat buyers for this beer.
