Napoleon once called these beers "Champagnes of the North." Made with over 60% wheat malt and served traditionally "mit hefe," this pale, refreshing ale has spicy and fruity notes - the perfect summer beer.

On tap at the Mickey Finn Brew Pub. Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, light wheat, and citrus. Tastes of bananas, cloves, bubble gum, and citrus.

Hazy coppery yellow hue with a small lasting head and good lace. The aroma has notes of banana, clove, berry, dusty yeast esters, and bready malt. The taste has moderate citrus and banana fruit flavor with a light spice finish. The wheat and grains are noticed throughout. The mouth feel is lively yet soft. Slightly better than average American made Hefeweizen.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2005 On tap at the pub: The clarity of the yellow body is the only major flaw of this beer. Nice foamy white head. The aroma is of lemon grass and banana with a whiff of subtle spiciness. This is very soft in the mouth. It’s got a nice clean banana flavor with cloves and a dollop of lemony acidity. Very refreshing drink.

Cloudy straw color with a taller lasting white head. Aromas of sweet wheat and slightly over-ripe bananas, with a backdrop of light spice. Plenty of light malt and wheat in the flavors with quite a dose of yeast and bananas. Decent hefe. I usually ask that the right yeast be used and this one fits the bill.

Hazy dark gold with a tight white head. Nice aroma is tart wheat with a whiff of clove and banana. Smooth medium body. Good flavors of tart wheat mixed nicely with a spicy citrusy sweetness. Not bad.

This is one of the best American-brewed hefeweizens I have had. Similiar to Hacker-Pshorr Weizen.

Sample at the brewpub. Lightly hazy, honeyish look...gorgeous big banana nose with some vanilla and pepper. Big fruity flavor, lots of malt, no bitterness, perhaps a might yeasty towards the end.

one of the best drafts of a sampler there... an ugly light honey gold... nose of tons of banana a bit sweet... tastes great, balanced and crushable, try this one

actually, not too shabby. Wheaty with spiciness and banana. Prickly carbonation and a nice body. sweet and quenching. Nice.
