I guess it gets the job done. Cheap and good for when you just want to get drunk.

For being a malt liquor, itís not bad at all... Actually I used to drink it a lot over my wifeís grandpa. At least, it brings good memories and itís absolutely bearable

Picked-up this big can at the Area 51 Alien Center on our way to Death Valley. Pour s light golden colour with a big frothy white head, pretty good retention with lots of foamy lace. Aromas are alright at first with grain and some corn. Then, the adjunct come out. Typical wet mouthfeel. Taste of corn, light malts, adjuncts and alcohol. Not as bad as what I recall from the bottle, many years ago. A decent light malt liquor, but not fine.

24oz. can. Pours a medium, weíll retained white head, over a clear yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is light malts, hints of sweetness......taste is sweet, with light hints of malt, minimal hop bitterness......mouth feel light and watery, carbonation low. This really isnít a malt liquor, it is more of a strong Pale Lager, which itself is a revolting style. This particular beverage has little to recommend it. BJCP 4/3/6/2/4

355 ml green grenade shaped, wide mouthed bottle design facilitates mass consumption. Clear bright yellow, lasting creamy white head. Aroma is muted malty and old vegetables. Corny grainy sweet malt liquor-ish taste, bready and bland. Soft carbonation, light bodied, low hopped. Relatively inoffensive. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Drank from the grenade bottle, I canít believe its taken me 2 years of rating to get to this "masterpiece". Ugh, the aroma is foul. The taste is worse than I guessed (or remembered, rather). Itís an american classic alright - one thatís due to be replaced by Dogfish Head Raison Dí tre or something. Remarkably high carbonation and an ugly mouthfeel, aftertaste takes forever to dissipate. It tastes (dare I say it?) cheap, ícause it is.

40 from a local 7-Eleven. Solid, minimalist label design. Clearly these guys donít mess around. The pourís light gold with a large white head that quickly settles. The nose is quite skunky unfortunately. Corn. White grape jelly. Scones. The taste is quite mellow. Generally bready, mild honeyed apple. Light finish. Moderate carb. Pretty toothless.

This nectar of the gods, sent to us from heaven. This shiny little green bottle looks like a grenade, and if I was going into battle, Iíd bring Mickeys Fine Malt Liquor. As I cracked open this delightful nugget I thought to myself one thing--fuck year. The green bottle yielded a beautiful yellow, like the brick road that brought Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow and Tin Man to meet the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Why? Because because because because of all the wonderful things he does. The cloudy like, soft, pure white aroma is fit for a wedding dress. Iíd marry someone wearing malt liquor head as a wedding dress, especially if sh tasted as good as Mickeys Fine Malt Liquor looks. Unfortunately for all of us, the glory of this beer dies the moment it hits your tongue. Weak, stale hops, grain, etc. and the biggest detriment is the shorty get low low low low boost offered by this drink. Iíd much prefer my Mickeys come in 40oz serving, but that is the life, liberty and justice for me, and many others, when drinking these little grenades. Overall, this isnít a bad beer, but it definitely isnít great. Oh well, Iíll slam the rest of the case I bought. (209)

A 24 ounce can poured into a Swamp Head Brewery Snifter. Initially a large white head, like clouds, but settles quickly. Low levels of corn in the aroma, but a surprising scent of soft white bread from the malt. No hop aroma present. No alcohol in the nose. No esters or yeast by-products in the nose. A very pale yellow color, crystal clear. The head has dissipated and leaves no lacing behind on the glass. Just a thing film of bubbles remains in the center of the glass. Initial taste is slightly sweet, definitely malt dominated. Notes of soft bread and a touch of almost cracker character. No significant corn flavors, and Iíve never been really to distinguish rice as a flavor in beer. No real hop bitterness to speak of. Definitely no hop flavor. Mid-palate is the malt is broken up by the high carbonation and then finishes a bit dry. Mouthfeel: High carbonation, but thin palate. No sense of alcohol comes across in the flavor or in any mouthfeel. Definitely not warming or anything. No signs of any fusel alcohols. Overall, Iím almost embarrassed to say that this is one of the better malt liquors I have had. At only $1 per 12ounces, I think I may have to pick this up when the occasion calls for purpose and not flavor.
