2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz hand grenade into a pint glass.
Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a 1.5 finger head. Really good head retention and lacing for being a cheap adjunct lager. Some of the best I have seen in the style.
Aroma has tons of cooked vegetable and some Corn. There is caramel in there along with a faint hint of wet grassy hops. Not bad.
The flavor has a not so nice cardboard/plastic note but it fades the warmer the beer gets. Some caramel and creamed corn and cooked vegetables. Hop flavor is very faint and grassy with bitterness being light. Mouthfeel is more full than a typical AAL finishing slightly sticky and a little sweet.
Overall, not a great beer by any means but one of the best malt liquors out there. More flavor than many macros and cheap to boot. Worth picking up if you are drinking on a budget.

This is like the ultimate drink for the poor dude, or the class-less person, or me. No, seriously, I don’t consider drinking Mickey’s to be low-class. It’s easy to drink, regular lager flavor, doesn’t have that sweetness that’s associated with malt liquor normally. This is a great beer for hot days, for drinking socially, or for getting totally plowed on.
Taste and smell is mostly non-existent, it tastes like bland beer but that’s good, you don’t drink this for the "complexities". When you pour it, small head that dissipates and leaves no real lacing. Don’t pour this, honestly. Just grab a 40 and chug.

Yup.....definitely "Old Days" beer. I remember grabbin this after a long (or short) day of school. They had gyros at the gas station we grabbed this from, so it was good to chase them down. Doesn’t taste all that bad. Looks and taste like the typical lager, but it seems to be maltier since it’s a "malt liquor". Worth trying if looking for something cheap. Better than Bud and Busch, etc.

Good for getting hammered. One of the best American beers I have had the pleasure of getting wasted on.

Another blast from the past…the legendary green 40. Corny sweetness with sickening malt aftertaste. I got the job done and then some.

Old rating. Good on a hot day. Sweet without being unpleasant. Almost like agave nector. Cheap buzz.

Purchased in big can, with the compulsory brown paper bag. Light yellow colour with lots od suds. Very malty and a taste dominated by corn syrup flavours. Hardly any bitterness, but fairly strong alcohol taste. Actually not as bad as I thought it would be, better than some poor lagers that I have sampled.

Bottle from Food Pantry Waikiki 221214. Clear in the glass with a scuzzy white head. Very basic aroma and flavour. Cool looking keg shaped bottle.

Grenade bottle. Wide mouth for fast slamming. This actually wasn’t bad, barely distinguishable from a pale lager. Slightly sweeter, slightly more skunky. I liked it.

1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
DATE TASTED: October 10, 2014... GLASSWARE: Ommegang pokal... OCCASION: O’s in the ALCS for the first time since 1997--probably the last time I drank Mickey’s... APPEARANCE: brassy golden body that matches the translucence of water; snow-white sudsy head fizzles to a sickly residual; vibrant bubbles at the pour evaporate immediately... AROMA: pitchy, astringent malts; its appeal is purely in the twist cap nostalgia.. PALATE: fizzy, rather oily and sift; gassy, beefy aftertaste; thin and drinkable....TASTE: puckerishly sweet, with a water hose copper coupling overbearing flavor;; some champagne (!) notes; simply not flavorful ... OVERALL: Mickey’s will always have a place in my heart--and on our college pong table--but this is a rough one to sip with any sustained interest...

Another fine hotel malt Likka tick had to be covert sneak by boss’s room out hotel to gas station. Right out of the 22 ounce can comes a big nose of sloppy grains, corn, tin. Taste pretty much follows with a light body, mild booze burn. Pretty basic gas station prima pils.
