1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
$2.29 for a 4-pack of 16oz cans at the Navy base (no tax!). It may have been the cheapest beer on the shelf, and they had it cold. I grabbed it because this was the favorite beer of a young girl I used to work with. I expected the worst, but its not terrible. The can is labeled 5.8% instead of the 5.9% shown on the description here. Its drinkable for a malt liquor. Corn, etc., but its clean tasting and no alcohol burn or fusel alcohols to give a nasty taste in your mouth. Medium body. I have a lot of yard work to do in 90+ deg heat so this fills the bill.

0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Pale yellow with a white head. Aroma is sour. I wonder if mickey mouse threw up in this can? Flavor tastes like a stale corn taco shell. I wonder if mickey mouse ate tostitos before he threw up in the can?

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pale golden with a light touch of skunkiness but still fairly clean. Thin head. Pale appearance. A touch of sweetness… it’s not really offensive at all.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Can courtesy of the Liquor Depot savvy markwise. It poured clear gold with weak 2 second head. The aroma is full up sweet esters and grains followed by a sense of floral hops. Yes, doesn’t smell too hateful. The taste is a mess of sweet fruity esters, grains, yeast and sort of harsh booze and then pretty much just water.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Ok, Horse Piss beer is better than this!!! I was told about this one from the owner of my local liquor store, and dang it, she told me I don’t know beer. Then she sold me this. Oh, well. Pours crystal clear gold with a white head. Nose is corn, lager, metal, and water. Flavor is less interesting than that. Who was Mickey and why did he hate people? If this is the Mouse, I would buy it with his picture on the can.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow with a tall foamy head. Good retention, moving on.
S: Aromas of corn, bread, and crackers. Very grainy.
T: a corny watery fizzy mess of a concoction.
M: Light fizzy meh.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
16 oz. can as an extra in a trade with markwise- thanks, Mark! How did you know I live under a bridge? Seriously, though, this is a malt liquor that I haven’t seen before and I’ll try anthing new. A special occasion beer calls for a special occasion glass, so I poured it into one of my new Portsmouth Brewery tulips I bought the weekend of Kate Day 2010. Pours a crystal clear pale gold with a finger-thick white head that leaves some surprisingly nice, even lacing. Aroma isn’t unlike most other malt liquors- pale malts, corn and other grains, and vegetal and metallic notes. The taste is pretty decent as far as these go- light as can be, with notes of corn, grass, and grains, but entirely inoffensive, which I feel is an achievement for the style. Light-bodied, with a lot of carbonation and a clean, crisp finish. I’ll sum up with this: I played 40 hands twice in college, and I wish I had this in 40s duct taped to my hands rather than OE 800, Colt 45, or King Cobra.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
40 oz bottle. Tasted as a part of an 18 beer Malt Liquor blind tasting. Pours a clear pale yellow body, a little bit of light lacing remained. The nose is lots of rice, some light veggies, and some light cheerios. Very very light flavor, pretty unoffensive, with minimal sweetness. Light and fizzy body with a weak watery finish. Finishes a little dry compared to the rest of the beers that night. Tasting this side by side with the regular Mickeys, they were completely indistinguishable. There’s no way that these are different beers.
