2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Quevillon (2014) - Sainte-Thérèse, - FEB 14, 2007
Bouteille de 341 ml. Blonde typique, bon collet avec un peu de dentelle. Arome de malte citronné tolérable, un peu d’herbe. Goût de malte extremement légé, un peu d’agrume.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 18, 2012
Originally rated October 2005 when it was brewed by Le Chaudron. Bought a sixer of this in Quebec City, with a sixer of red... in order to get a free glass. Both sixers seems outdated. This one pours a cloudy blonde yellow with a big white creamy head. Retention is not bad and so is lacing. That sourness in the nose is what makes me think this beer is pass the freshness date. Other than that, I smell a bit of fruit. The taste is light in bitterness, with the hemp in there. Some citrus fruit and not much mouthfeel. Wish I could try a fresh one, one day... but for now, I am not a big fan of these hemp beers (blonde and rouge - the noire being decent).

En fût au Saint-Bock, Cette bière dorée n’a pas de mousse, elle est légère en bouche, n’a pas beaucoup de caractère. Par contre il est facile de s’apercevoir qu’elle est épicée au chanvre. Pas ma meilleure.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Glouglouburp (4784) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2008 In short: Bland blonde beer with a light astringency
How: Bottle, freshly bought at the store but I suspect this isn’t fresh.
The look: Cloudy orange-golden body with almost no head
In long: Malt profile reminiscent of plain donut with maybe a little rye thrown in. Some fruity notes of orange and lemon. A bit more yeasty than expected. It’s been a few years since my last Chanvre Blonde but I remember it being lighter, more lemony and more refreshing than this. Medium body and medium carbonation. There was something off in the beer but it was mostly covered by a pleasant astringency. All in all a very bland but non-offensive blonde hemp beer. Same with people, if you mix a blonde and hemp you end-up with something uninteresting but at least it goes down easy.
2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 GregClow (2667) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2006
Bottle (labelled as Le Gobelet Les Fantomes de la Maison Trestler) courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a light yellow-gold with a small white head. Aroma of sweet, grainy malt with vague yeast and spice notes. Crisp, thin mouthfeel. Flavour is primarily grainy, with some mild spice and hops in the finish. Pretty bland, but not awful.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Boutip (3467) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 15, 2006
Bottle: Poured a golden color ale with a medium white foamy head with average retention. Aroma of sweet malt is pretty discreet with a touch of spices that is very subtle. Some refreshing sweet malt with some weird spices/smoke also dominates taste. Body is thin and this is not a beer that I will necessarily be seeking anytime soon.
2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 tupalev (2730) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 13, 2006
Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and blankboy, Harry’s bottle. Medium to light yellow, small white head. Lemony yeast aroma, fresh light hops, fresh light malt. A little odd light malt taste. Very bland. Watery. Maybe a hint of banana. Wouldn’t want to have it again, but it wasn’t dreadful.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 blankboy (4454) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 13, 2006
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry and tupalev -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy golden-yellow with a small diminishing white head. Aroma of honey, caramel malt and surprisingly, some hops -- not bad at all. Flavour of floral hops, some grain, yeast and wheat. Light to medium bodied. Better then I expected it to be, a pleasant enough Blonde Ale.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HogTownHarry (4873) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2006
Bottle (341ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, my bottle via trade with my brother turg. Poured slightly hazy amber-yellow with floaties and a smallish white head. Aroma of sweet green funky hops, a little sweet malt, nothing much else. Sweet, oddly funky yeast (I got a bit of scorched rubber, but didn’t mind) - juicy, almost witbier-like. Mouthfeel lightly astringent, quite lively, watery - not bad, I was expecting to hate this. Maybe a little harsh in the finish.
