3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, - APR 4, 2004
Reddish brown body with a good sized off white beige head that leaves behind a bit of brewers lace. Aroma is sweet malty caramel, which is echoed by the flavour. Also a dry slightly bitter finish with a note of mildly nutty something that I wouldn't describe as citric but is probably from the hemp.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - DEC 14, 2011
Originally rated October 2005 (when Le Chaudron use to brew this one). I bought a sixer of this stuff in Quebec City... to try it, yes, but also to get a free glass (when purchased with another sixer of this family). The first few I had were outdated, or at least turned bad. This one I am sampling, thank God, is actually still good. Pours a caramel-amber colour with a slight off-white foamy head. Dissipates fast and mild lacing is left behind. The nose is of caramel and a mix of sourness and acidity. Watery mouthfeel. Not much in the taste. Just very mild caramel and maybe nut. The "gentle citric finish" told in the description is very gentle. Not really my thing. Very, very boring. Le Chaudron makes much better beer than these hemp brews.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Imaena (259) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUN 23, 2008
Bottle @ Brewtopia while attending world of beer festival in montreal. Overly sweet, hops not overbearing. How do they use hemp in the beer? A beer to try while on holiday i suppose.

Bottle. Pours a clear orange-amber with a large diminishing fluffy white head. Sweet aroma of grain, caramel malt, fruit and maybe some sugar. Flavour’s also somewhat sweet, with caramel malt, light hops, fruit, notes of chocolate, faint nuttiness and a light bitter finish. Average bodied. Based on some of the ratings, some people must have had some bad bottles, though not great this is definitely not as bad as some of those ratings would lead you to believe -- maybe they have quality control issues? Anyways, I found this pretty decent, I’d actually get it again.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 JChapmanMTL (15) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 12, 2007
Hazy orange-brown colour with whitish head. Flavour is too sweet for my liking. The taste is fairly intense to start but then fades into a strange weak aftertaste. Different from any of the other brown ales I’ve had. Could be the hemp used in making the beer, but whatever the strange taste is in there I’m not a fan of it.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 pnista (1007) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - JUL 8, 2007
Lightly hazed yellow orange brown with a thin dense white head. Lightly sweet malt, with a bit of dry lightly fruity/herbal hops. Some hemp rope? A bit too much chocolate malt for the rest of the beer? Low carbonation with still a reasonable amount of foaminess, a bit watery. A low flavor profile. Subtle hemp ropey hops. Chocolate malt is substantial. A bit too clean in some ways in terms of yeast metabolites. Lightly fruity. A bit of rope and chocolate malt in the finish.
