(bottle - 22 oz) Copper pour with a thin white head. Sweet and piney hops with a touch of sugar and caramel in the nose. Sweet and malty but then a quick change to bitter and peppery hops. Dries out the sweetness nicely and leaves a lightly bitter aftertaste. Nicely balanced.

Pours murky brown with quick fading head and some lacing. Nose is toffee and pine. Notes of brown bread, pine, some fruit. Taste is medium bitter and medium sweet. Full somewhat oily body and lively carbonation with a sticky finish.

Gluepot (64) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2014
Lively tan head on a surprisingly dark brown body. Significant nose of Grapefruit, bubble gum and rum. Taste is dominated by bready malt, with subplots of resign hops, caramel and boozy warmth. The hops present in the nose are muted by the 12% ABV and malt presence. This is a very rich DIPA, but enjoyable as a sipper.

MadRobin (1998) - Silver Spring, USA - JAN 10, 2014
Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Dark red-brown with a 1-finger khaki head and very good lacing. Aroma of hops, raisins, caramel, toffee, pine, raspberries and rum. Taste of toffee, raisins, piney and other hops, rum, raspberries, caramel and cherries. Full/medium body and medium/high carbonation. A bit like a cross between a barleywine and a double IPA. Delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber shared by MaltDawg at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, spicy herbal hops, mild dark fruits. The taste is toffee malts, earthy, resin hops. Caramelized sugar and even a mild bit of chocolate. Medium-full bodied, lingering bitterness.

From a bottle shop in Cortland. The aroma is caramel, brown sugar, resin, citrus. A bit sour and earthy as well. The appearance is a DARk amber, ruby color, off-white head. The flavor is caramel, bready, resiny, citrusy. The finish is resin, citrus, strong, lasting hop bitterness. Medium/thick in body. Slight booze warming after a minute, but overall the booze is farly well hidden here. Very good.

Middle Ages high-end beers are awesome. If you like strong ales this is your gal. It has a sweetness that is perfect with a full body, great taste too.
