Commercial Description:
An epic barleywine, made in the tradition of British Farmhouse Brewing. Lavished with a velvety blend of six different malts this is a warming beer with a lush mouthfeel. The complexities your discriminating palate will detect are ever changing as this barleywine matures. When young, an assertive hop character predominates and with age the beauty of the big malt balance unfolds.

This is my favorit brew from my closest brewery. I bought a growler at the brewery and shared it with my son-in-law. When I left his house my Irish son-in-law was leaving to get a growler of his own. It is dark amber with an half inch yellow head. Good balance between sweet and hops excellent mouth feel.

Pours a rich coppery brown with hints of red. Thin tan head but plenty of lace. Smells of floral hops, grapefruit. Some fruity malt. Bitter. Great big hops on the tongue. Various hops flavors: bitingly bitter, floral and citrusy. Rich malt with a hint of alcohool bite. Lightly nutty. Full bodied and chewy with a pleasantly bitter hops aftertaste. A pleasant surprise, this one. Could stand to be aged a bit for sure but very tasty and drinkable now. A fine barleywine.

Triple gumm-fruity citrus, surprising sweet pucker nose. deep amber with regular beige tufty head. Flavor is more of a triple IPA. super hoppy citrus fruity, strong finish, not much barley but awesome as an IPA. Big palate, strong but drinkable. Shared this among some toher bottles at a party (including an imp stout and a real triple IPA) and this was the favorite of all. It probably has a low rating because, as a barleywine, it is an utter failure. It tastes nothing like barleywine. If like me, you’d rather a double IPa over a barleywine , this will be a nice surprise. I drank this within less than 6 months of purchasing it, don’t know how long it had been at the store though. Drink it young, it’s a delicious hop explosion, very nice mix of flavors, I want to get a bunch more to drink young and to experiment with aging.

Where the hell is the vintage year printed???crystal clear see- through bronz with a lumpy top..
aroma was extremely creamy with creamcycles, cream & orange swirl lolli-pops, and fresh home-made whipped cream..
Creamy bliss with malty sweetness hinting at brown sugar coated candied oranges..carmelly sweet loveliness and grapefruit tree bitter-sweetness..An extremely good creamy barley-wine

2001: This beer has a wonderful froth-like creamy head that turns rocky. Appearance is a hazy orange; reminds me of AVBC IPA. Orangey hop aroma, raisins, tropical fruit, nuts, and some malts, ringwood aroma, of which I have been smelling a lot lately in many of the English beers. Flavors are perfumey, very subtle english hop bitter, long malt finish that is round. This beer has so much life left in it. I wish I had one for the cellar. A change of pace comapared to most barleywines. Thanks so mich, Venom. This was a great way to end a great day.
