22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours deep copper with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of caramel malts with a little cereal and dough, plus a decent amount of hops. Flavor about the same, with the malts and bitter hops blending well. Smooth texture. A pretty good beer, but not the best for its style.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nyindiansfan (265) - rochester, New York, USA - DEC 23, 2011
Bottle. Pours a copper orange with a inch of cream colored head. Nice little carb bubbles in it. Very nice looking beer. Smells and tastes of light caramel, maybe a bit of vanilla, citrus, more grapefruit. Has a bit of a alcohol smell and hops a fair amount of hops. This was fresh beer not aged more then a few months. light sweetness, very bitter, lightly sour, medium body, oily feel, bitter long finish. I myself would like this beer to mellow out a bit maybe not as bitter. It was kind of a mess all over but still really nice, seemed to be a bit close to a darker ipa.

Bomber that I had for a year. Hazy orange, light aroma. Not a huge hop ale, but not without bite either. Variety of fruits in the malt. Slight alcohol warmth, and some citrus hops. Nice enough BW, but not top drawer.

Smooth easy drinking malty barley wine. I had this beer with about 2 years on it, the hop profile had faded significantly, very approachable and easy to drink. This BW is definitely on the lighter side.
