Thanks to grandet for tihs bottle. Pours a murky rusted brown this a decent off white head that leaves cloudy artwork swirling on top. Nose of brown sugar, caramel and roasted apples. I initially noticed that the body was weaker than I expected, however the flavor wasn’t too bad. Light caramel and soft malts with a rather quick finish. If they’d dial in the malts a little better it would be a solid beer.

My wife brought this one back from a trip to Rochester. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky caramel-brown color with an enormous foamy tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was faint tart vague fruits. The flavor was bitter and tart with faint citrus and a touch of brown sugar. Medium length finish and medium body. Eh.

Bottle split with Vi and Ken. Pours an amber body with no head, some white lacing. Aroma is light vanilla malts. Mouthfeel is thin with pretty plain flavors surrounding a malty backbone and light hop and vanilla.

Bottle- Pours a dark amber color with a nice tan head that fades to lacing. Mild malt aroma of caramel and a hint of pine. Mild caramel flavor a bit of toasty malt and a mild bitterness with a clean finish. Medium body, smooth with a nice balance. Easy to drink a few of these without even trying. Nice change of pace beer. Another solid beer from Middle Ages.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours lightly ruddy copper with a foamy beige head. Sweet, fruity aroma. Flavor is sweetish, fruit, and possibly some not very bitter hop. But the components work really well, and the result is more tasty than most ambers. I can image this turning into Gale’s Prize Old Ale after many years. Probably not gonna happen.

Beer tasting at the brewery I learned that the owners of the brewery were big Monty Python and the Holy Grail fans(and were also Middle aged) and that is how they came up with the brewery’s name. Poured copper color with a ton of tan foam. Aroma is a nice blend of malts, some light hops and apple. The flavor begins with a mix of apples and sweet malts. It’s followed by a malty and slightly bitter middle and an aftertaste of some hops. The finish is very clean and hoppy.

Bottle. Sweet grassy nose with a little earthy caramel and crystal edginess, has a distinct sweet herbal character. Pours a nice amber edging toward ruby with a short clingy beige head. Relatively flat feel, medium body, not really crisp or bready or even flavorful. There’s some generic dull malt and light citric acidity and that’s about it - just a homebrew experiment gone wrong. Nothing here.

Very clear, in a deep blood-red. Large rocky, pillowy head. No lace to speak of. Medium carbonation. Fairly potent malt smell right off the bat. Tiny bit musty, but that may have been my fault. Mild woody hop scent. Malt absolutely dominates. Actually a very nice balance: hops in one sniff, malt in the next, and back to hops again. Nice, complex aroma. Has the malty first sip of a typical amber/red. Touch of butterscotch. Nice amber-y bite at the end. Not amazing, but good. Mild yeast undertone. Bitter (German-tasting) malt. Medium thickness and with a solid bite at the end. The yeast allows for a nice, dry finish. This is a one-and-done brew; it’s got too much of that bitter malt for me to have more than one. Decent, just not remarkable.

Not at all impressed with this amber ale. It has a nice fruity aroma, but it doesn’t carry over to the flavor, which is rather bitter. It leaves an unpleasant lingering aftertaste, reminding me of dirty water.

Redish-brown body with a light caramel colored head. Slightly citrusy aroma with hints of grass and a subtle sweet toasty undertone. Body is rather light with slight carbonation. Initial toast flavor with a slight bitterness quickly fades leaving a smoky flavor in the finish.
