3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2003 Nice aromatic smell. Medium intensivity, slightly parfumy. Thick impressive head. Bright amber color. Strong IPA flavours. Very clean and decently balanced which is not always the case in IPAs. Very intensive, and rich.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reddish gold color, thick white lacing on glass. Peachy citrus nose. Nice hop presence but not overpowering like I expect in an IPA today. A good session beer.

A nice IPA,...nice. Hints of grapefruit with a good body. Well balaced. Good but not great.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This beer poured a copper gold color and formed a nice bubbly white head that left some circular lace. There was a medium amount of carbonation present. The aroma was heavily hoppy, with traces of citrus. The flavor also was very hoppy with some grain elements present. The finish was a bit bitter, but not bad. A nice stab by an American company at an English style IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 8/13/02: Orangeish brown which seaps into the frothy and rambunctious head..
nose was filled with deep carmel malt w/ a tad of hops just peaking its head into the picture...
Apples skinned alive and forced to undergo chinese carmel torture..drip..drip..
Fresh hops just starting to flower...
the hops were hidden like a female in Afghanistan..and the malts were greedy Polygamists taking over the whole damn place...
Re-rate 8/19/02: I'll say this...the 7% is hidden..hidden well my brothren! and i notice hops in the back of the finish too..o.k. Ill add a point..

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
As the malt forces scale the parapets of Fort IPA, they are quickly impaled by legions of English hops with no regard for balance. The result is a lopsided battle, and beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Trapped in the trojan horse that is its hefty fruity pale malt, a flurry of massive grassy hops reveal themselves and descend unto an incredulous drying palate...Hop victory is swift and not too bloody...

Deep amber in color, fairly cloudy. It has a nice hoppy aroma, but I didn’t taste the hops much on the finish. Good English Style IPA.
