UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 8/13/02: Orangeish brown which seaps into the frothy and rambunctious head..
nose was filled with deep carmel malt w/ a tad of hops just peaking its head into the picture...
Apples skinned alive and forced to undergo chinese carmel torture..drip..drip..
Fresh hops just starting to flower...
the hops were hidden like a female in Afghanistan..and the malts were greedy Polygamists taking over the whole damn place...
Re-rate 8/19/02: I'll say this...the 7% is hidden..hidden well my brothren! and i notice hops in the back of the finish too..o.k. Ill add a point..

As the malt forces scale the parapets of Fort IPA, they are quickly impaled by legions of English hops with no regard for balance. The result is a lopsided battle, and beer.

Trapped in the trojan horse that is its hefty fruity pale malt, a flurry of massive grassy hops reveal themselves and descend unto an incredulous drying palate...Hop victory is swift and not too bloody...

Deep amber in color, fairly cloudy. It has a nice hoppy aroma, but I didn’t taste the hops much on the finish. Good English Style IPA.

Dark Golden Color with amber undertones. Hoppy Aroma and very hoppy flavor with sweet undertones.

This is a nice beer for the price, much better IPA’s out there though.

Good white head, light amber body, mild hops with some butter in the nose. Fairly hoppy but this had a bit too much diacetyl to really work for me.

Light orange, faintly cloudy, medium dissipating head. Nose, surprisingly, mostly malty; caramel apples and maybe just a touch of grapefruit. Flavor pretty well balanced, plenty of hops coming through on the end with a start dominated by malt. Rather smooth and tame overall, though; decent but not really memorable.

A decent Paled Ale. Reminded me a lot of Grail Ale - Didn’t pack as much of a hoppy punch as I would have liked, nevertheless decent.

Clear, orangish copper. Thin but persistent head and lace. Lots malt and caramel in nose. As well as some yeasty fruitiness. Medium bodied, tons of malt and fruity undertones, huge english hops with a long, moderatley bitter finish. As far as english IPA’s go, this is wonderful.
