On tap at the Golden Rail. Pours a clear copper, purple body with a nice thick off-white head. Arome of prunes, grapes, cherry and some winey scents. Tasty hoppy, spicy flavor. Sweet at first sip but mellows out with good hops. Gonna also try this in the 22oz. Very fo

Pours a brownish color. Taste is pretty hoppy but not too great. Drank while cleaning the car!

Moderate malt and hop aroma. Hazy brown and red color with a medium tan head. Sweet beginning with a dry bitter finish.

Bottle shared by Matt - another terrible label design by Middle Ages tricked me into expecting the worst. I guess I was pleasantly surprised. Nose is soapy and pine hops. Huge caramel toffee. Raisins. Very dry, pine resins but not that bitter. Touch oxidation. Burnt sugar. Not bad.

Pours a ruby color color with a huge tan head...nice lacing and retention. Smells like turkey hill raspberry iced tea. Tastes much the same with a hint of caramel malt. Finish is like unsweetened tea. This is a horrendous beer.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours dark ruddy amber with a 3 finger foamy beige head. Aroma of roast caramel. Flavor is floral/fruit with caramel and then some arguably citrus rind bitter. It’s not NW bitter, but the hops are all over the malt. It’s a pretty good drink.

On tap at the Chapter House in Ithaca last weekend. Pours a tawny color with a single-finger tan head and a good bit of lacing as it goes down. Thin collar throughout. The nose carries a good amount of brown sugar plus a nice bit of citrus. Smelling this, I thought this was an ESB. Maybe so, just a very strong one. Probably more properly classified as an English Strong Ale. Flavor brings a slight bit of diacetyl and some malty sweetness. Moderate fruitiness. The hops really don’t come through until the finish, which is fairly bitter. Classic ESB-type profile. Really well done. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 06-04-2011

Bottle from New Beer Distributors, NY
Beautiful dark mahogany color; generous creamy head; sticky lace. The aroma is perfumy, with caramel, creamy, not much hoppy, maybe soapy, a noble touch of yeast. Medium body strength; dark caramel flavor, spicy (pepper); reasonable bitterness, a bit dusty and with a very light soap impression. Quite strong final bitterness. No hop qualities. Unimpressive, somehow boring.
