Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Oct 21, 2007 22 oz’er. Poured a deep mahogoney reddish-brown with a big, thick and juicy head of airy foam. The aroma is bountiful ... hinting at a hoppy stew of malty goodness. And that’s what this beer is ... a nice robust and meaty glass of good ol’ beer. This comes across first as a deeply roasty medium amber brew. But then the stark hoppiness strikes your palate, fruity and delicious. Exceptionally well made brew. (#3150, 10/21/2007)
fishingnet (800), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of tpd975. Pours a clear deep amber with a one finger off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel with spicy floral hops and a touch of alcohol. TAste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. Very good. DandyWolfFloyd (225), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2008 Aroma, just jumps from the glass. It’s well full of hops, with a bouquet of different hops, some grapefruit, and some pine. It’s appearance is dark copper, with a white head. It’s flavor is extremely well-balanced. It’s bursting with hops, but well-balanced and lending well to it’s malt content. It’s easy to drink, not to astringent, or to aggressive. Easily 2-3 in the bag for me. checkmatei1 (239), Willow Grove, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle: Poured an amber color with a white head. The aroma was that of hops, strong hops. The flavor was piney, hoppy and spicy. Overall, a decent beer. lb4lb (1339), Austin, Texas, USA Jul 11, 2008 Bottle in trade courtesy of DIM. Thanks!
Pours a rich amber color with a whitish head. Smell is a bit of a buttery diacetyl with some red ale like malt and hops behind it. Buttery and sharp hops, at the same time. Definitely a diacetyl like flavor standing out to me. Like a strong red ale to me, more than a DIPA. Medium body with crisp carbonation. Perhaps not the freshest bottle, but I don’t know. grandridge (137), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Jul 3, 2008 Pours darker than most dipas with a large head. Hops/malt sweetness present in the flavor. Thick rich palate which is nice. A really good DIPA but the hop flavor is no match for a hopslam or a dreadnaught but a very drinkable beer. Definitely one of the better dipas out there.
