the city’s most famous brew. Middleton Brewing has reproduced and now offers it fresh to the Hill Country of Central Texas. Garnet is a luscious, well-rounded Belgian style amber that features an aromatic mix of clean continental malt with subtle signatures of Vienna and nutty-roasted grains. European nobel hops impart a spicy delicate presence and provide a warming malty finish to this drinkable beer. Enjoy Garnet in a stemmed chalice glass at 43˚-46˚F. This beer pairs well with a variety of dishes. Its soft, spicy character enhances beef and mushroom dishes, braised short ribs and lamb. It also works especially well with spicy sausage and other pork dishes.

Aroma of spice, fruit, caramel, and grain. Pours a ruby brown with nice mostly diminishing off-white head and spotty lacing. The taste is bread, grain with a bitter finish. Medium body with sharp carbonation. Overall, not that much taste. Won't drink again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the brewpub. The beer pours a hazy reddish-amber color with a white head. The aroma has a lot of dark fruit in it, mainly made up of cherries with some plums also present. I also get some Belgian yeast notes, as well as some candy sugar. The flavor is a nice mix of caramel malt, as well as some Belgian yeast, cloves, pepper and coriander. I also get some nice dark cherry notes and some sweetness from the sugar. A wonderful mix of malt, spices and fruit make this beer very nice and easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
