Midgårds Øl is brewed from selected malt and hop sorts, and the good water, that is pumped up a few meters from the spring of Ørbæk on Funen. After the brewing process the mead is added. Our mead is produced by pure ingredients with no artificial additives. The mead gives the beer more body and a soft and rounded honey flavor.

Uklar gulgylden, skum hængende i glasset, duft lidt af gær og vilde bær, smag med honningsødme, kraftig "spritter", og et sødlig aroma der får tankerne hen på noget græsk Retsina vin. Free Føroyar!!!

Bottle from duty free shop @ Billund Airport. Pours a hazy dark-hued orange body with a medium creamy white head. Nose is citric peel, perfumy floral notes, grainy malts and hints of honey, alcohol and herbs. Taste is sweet floral honey tones, alcohol, wine yeast, herbs and hints of pale malts and straw. Full body, medium carbonation. Quite mead-ish in its features; both very sweet, alcoholic and full-bodied, with carbonation and a light touch of pale ale in the back. Fair enough braggot, but not fully convincing.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours slughtly hazy light yellow with small white head. Clear aroma of flowers, honey and fruit with touches of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with touches of spice, giving way to heavy notes of honey, alcohol and flowers. Mildly sweet finish with a spicy note. Nice.

Bottle, 9.4%. Spicy and caramelly honey aroma. Cloudy yellow colour, sparkling. Small stable creamy chalk white head. The flavour is sweet, sugary with a good honey note, some white wine notes as well. Late spicy honey note, has a sort of gingery bite in the finish. Seems alcoholic, but in a good warming way.

It comes in a properly big (0.75l) bottle with an inviting viking-y label. When you poor it, it looks nice and it smells nice. Unfortunately, when you drink it, it tasted like (other) bad honey-beers. It’s quite sweet but with a (what I would imagine) soapy-sugary taste. The aftertaste is not pleasant either.

0.75 bottle. Light amber color, medium white head of medium retention, it is inherently hazy. Very sweet aroma, mead and vinuous fragrances dominate front of the nose followed by floral and herbal notes as well as a little bit of ginger. Very sweet taste dominated not so much by mead as by honey, definitely unbalanced and kind of sour in the background. Full body, sticky texture and average carbonation. Finish is long and sweet, ginger mentioned in the description finally pushes its way through and is distinctly noticeable. All in all it is an interesting beer, the uncanny addition of mead makes it exciting but it does not come off all that well, there is a lot of room for improvement.
