COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First of the 7 Deadly BeeRs. Indulge your demons: Gluttony is the overpowering desire to consume more than one requires. 200 IBUs.
Gluttony Triple IPA overindulges the palate with profound malt, powerful hops and abundant body. Its deep decadent golden orange color presents an appetizing invitation for extravagant enjoyment. Its aroma entices with citrus, pine and alcohol while the flavor provides a smörgåsbord of sweet malt, fresh tangerine/grapefruit and a resinous hop character that lingers well beyond the finish.

Found muddled notes from a stop @ Humpys in Anchorage a month or so ago...pour deep amber/brown with a fluffy thin head. Nose was surpisingly caramel and tobacco, with the background bitterness of what was to come. Flavor is bordering on insane levels of piney/woody hops. Sticky (as one would expect) mouthfeel. Just light notes of the caramel from the nose, but they’re pretty much clobbered by the bitterness here. Good, but one is more than enough and pretty much toasted me on anything else.

22oz courtesy of savnac. Poured a clear cinnamon red with a massive, towering, yellow head that has absolutely unreal retention and enormous poofy lace. Looks like a vanilla ice cream float. Aroma is sandalwood, birch, rich caramel, slight piney hops, slight strawberry candies. At first I was like, here we go again- another expired hop bomb. But the nose allows for more complexity to spew forth: cinnamon, gingerbread, birthday cake. Lots of rich, sweet, spicy goodness. Taste at first was very alcoholic, big 10%+ abv presence, but soon it settles down to a very dry, bitter, lots of beechwood, ending in a bit of a chalky, cardboardy finish. Still very drinkable for the insane specs and pretty refined and not over the top.

A: The pour is a glowing orange color with a really nice white head and some spots of lacing. S: A strong hop presence, though certainly on the way out. A nice resinous pine note along with nice citrus aromas. As the hops have begun to die out, there is quite a bit of caramel malt. T: While the hop aromas are certainly dying down, the flavors are still nice. And although I’m not the biggest fan of sweeter/maltier IPAs, this one still has quite a bit of pine and bitterness to it. M: The body is medium, but almost chewy. A moderate carbonation to go along with it. D: I wish I could have tried this beer super-fresh, but alas that is not exactly possible. Still quite good, all things considered, and perhaps another batch is in the future.

Bottle purchased at Gold Rush in Anchorage -- the last one in town I could find. Live rate. Pours a brilliant copper color with a thick off-white head that leaves gorgeous lacing -- this is one pretty beer. Brimming with white pepper, hops, and soapy mint. Tastes of further hops, salt, red apple skins, and caramel. Very nice. I would have never thought this would hold up so well.

Deep orange pour, smallish white head. Aroma is loaded with citrus and resin along with lots of sticky sweet honey and caramel. Flavor is very hoppy, tons of citrus and honey. Resinous finish. Nice! Thanks nbutler11.

Bottle thanks to savnac. Pour is deep caramel copper with a thinnish white head that lasts. Aroma is initially huge on two main things: resinous hops and caramel malt. As I continue to smell, I also get notes of oranges, light spice, and cane sugar. Flavor is also huge on spicy caramel malt. Hops are present, but a little bit more of a background here initially. Then the hops dominate. Hops are mostly resinous and piny early with a light floral character in the finish. Actually, now that I look up at the description, this seems to be what they were going for. It’s not subtle. Presumably that’s why it’s a "triple IPA" per the label. Guessing loads of summit hops in this one. Somewhat reminiscent of the most recent Obliteration. It’s certainly a great beer, I think I just like more citrusy hops. thank you for this rare treat Ira!

Bomber at Funky 5 2009. Pours a medium to deep amber- mostly clear with a nice fluffy tight medium off white head. Aroma is pine-like PNW hops, citrus grapefruit light dankness but lots of resin and sap with a medium sharp caramel note in the background. Flavor is earthy dank minty hops grapefruit, pine, citrus and resin, ok caramel sweetness and the malt profile seemed just a touch too big and not dry enough with all these resins and hops. Still pretty good though.
