4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BottleÖ Pre-C&PísLYFO ThrowdownÖ This beer rocks!Ö Pours murky and very dark with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a hearty swirl of bourbon, chocolate and espresso. Medium to full-bodied and ultra creamy with tingly carbonation. The flavor presents dark, semi-sweet chocolate, wood and very warm bourbon. Lengthy, chocolaty, boozy finish. Thanks to Beerlando for sharing this world class beer with the guys at redlight redlight!

Big thanks to Tim for providing a beer I thought I would never have the opportunity to try. This completes my tasting of the 7 Deadly Sins beers.
Pours dark reddish brown out of the bottle but settles almost completely black in the glass underneath a huge creamy tan head that leaves sheets of lacing and hangs on as a cap.
The aroma has quite a few layers. There is the sweet tartness of the cherries with plenty of brown sugar and Belgian yeast underneath. There is a noticeable funkiness from the Brett though itís definitely not dominating.
The taste has an oaky bourbon presence up front that I couldnít get in the nose. The sweet Belgian body is there in the background with lots of dark fruit, including cherries, on top. The finish is slightly smoky and with a faint tartness from the cherries. The funk is really minimal in the taste for me.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and super smooth with plenty of carbonation. The finish is definitely dry and shows the wood character.
This is one of the more complex beers Iíve had recently and the taste is spectacular with all the competing flavors coming together almost perfectly. A great, great beer.

Courtesy Beerlando. Dark brown with dark red edges, a bit of off white carbonation. Very malt and barrel forward with the cherries and brett taking a back seat. I like the subtle cherries, but would have preferred more brett presence, although these combined with the barrel give the brew a very pleasant vinous character. Medium/full body, balanced carbonation, dry finish considering how malty this brew is. Another solid brew from MS, just wish their stuff was easier to get.

From the bomber pours a translucent, dark, crimson liquid with a foamy, khaki colored head. Delicate arches of thin, sheety lacing hover above the surface. The nose is bourbon forward, but it doesnít go overboard. Dark cocoa and dried dark caramel form a malty base, with raisin and fig adding fruity depth. I pick up very little brett and perhaps just a hint of cherry in the aroma, which is surprising. I suppose the woody bourbon overpowers those elements just a bit. Flavors feature nougat, caramel, and dry cocoa, quite fruity and figgy overall. Oak, vanilla, and of course, rich bourbon all show quite strong, standing up to and challenging the sweetness of the complex malt. The body is substantial, smooth, and only moderately carbonated. Thereís a noticeable alcohol presence, but it isnít so hot that it becomes obtrusive. Another very nice beer from Midnight Sun. These guys are some of the best in the business.

Not exactly what I was expecting but still extremely enjoyable. Didnít really show its Belgian roots. Color a mixture of Mississippi mud and Sedona red clay (yes, I know the beer was brewed in Alaska) with a dirty snowdrift head that left small chunks of lacing. The brett had definitely worked its mojo, running wild in the beerís aroma...almost taking over. Tart cherry skins, oak, and booze also evident. Cherry is also prominent in the flavor along with bourbon, and oak. More malty sweetness would be welcome but still a very solid brew.

Bomber shared by BOLTZ7555. Thanks Jason!!!. Pours a deep dark reddish brown with a one finger tan head that leaves spotty lacing. The nose is bretty sour cherries, light bourbon and sweet malt. The taste is sour cherries, bourbon, vanilla and roasty malts. Medium, creamy mouth feel. Very good. Thanks for sharing this Jason!!

Bottle from kryptic. Pours dark brown, with a brown head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, cherries, other dark fruit, and some alcohol. Flavor is bourbon, vanilla, wood, dark fruit, bitter chocolate, and malt. This is really nice, far above average, but more sweetness would have really have made this truly amazing

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2009 Traded for this over a year ago with AKBelgianBeast on BA - thanks, Frank! Dark brown pour, fizzy and active from the yeasts involved. Sharp nose of dark, tart cherries and some mild bourbon notes - not of the vanilla variety, but of the vaguely decadent, ruinous variety. This seems to suit the dark cherry vibe quite well. Interestingly thereís not much of a malt presence, and itís not simply because this beer is bretty (in fact, itís only mildly so). Like Josh said, I feel that some of the additions - namely the cherries and the bourbon - are a bit too dominant, and Iím not sure as to the character of the base beer on some level. Certainly quite yummy but thereís a bit too much going on. Maybe shoulda aged it more.

Bottle. This could use some more time. Pours a brown body with a tan head. Light oaky bourbon, strong dark fruit with some sour cherry and just a hint of brett in the lightly dry alcoholic finish.
