4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 xmarcnolanx (925) - Kirkwood, Missouri, USA - JAN 5, 2008
Very earthy, dank onion and rindy bitter aroma with pine.
Taste is very bitter pine and rind of grapefruit. Some strange earthiness and very harsh bittering. Very solid aroma and taste.
Lingers well along the sides of the glass. Keeps its head well, has some hop particles, what more could I ask for?
Finishes well and lingers well.
Rough, but made well.

Thanks to TomDecapolis for sharing this...
Appears a hazy, light gold with a small white head that fades into a mild collar. Spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of floral leaves, herbal, juniper berries, biscuits, and pine.
Taste is of obvious pils base, floral flavors, herbs, pine, mildly sweet sugar.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, bitter, doughy, with slight esters grazing the palate.

Thick darker gold, with nice big white head. Big grapefruit and orange with a touch of yeast on the nose. Flavor is all hops, really can taste the simcoe. There is a touch of Belgian in here with some hints of clove and banana. Finish is very dry and hoppy.

Thanks again Tom! Poured a hazy amber gold color with a big white fluff. Aroma is big grapefruit, pine, earthy funk, and mild dough. Flavors are big hops the whole way through. Lots of pine, orange peel, grapefruit, and earthy belgian yeast. This may have been my favorite of the night.

Thanks to Tom for sharing! Pours a light slight hazy gold with a nice head- similar to the obliteration. Aroma is more skewed towards amarilo- tons of topical fruits, nto as resinous and tons of catpiss- but low on the belgian spicy yeastiness. Very low belgain character overall- a bit of pepper in the flavor slight metalic hops. Nice clean bitterness and becomes increasingly harsh- tacky and just really raw and intense. One of the most bitter beers I have ever had actually.

Poured a lightly hazy, amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of pine, floral hops, light citrus, coriander, spicy cardamom, and a bit of yeast. Taste of pine, caramel malts, citrus fruits, grapefruit, with a simcoe / spicy combo, and enough malt to round the whole thing out.

Bottle shared by cquiroga: Pours a transparent bright bronze orange with a clingy-lacing froth of white head. Big, fresh citrusy grapefruity hoppy aroma has some nice biscuity malty presence and a touch of Belgian yeast. Starts fairly full and lightly biscuity caramely sweet with big flavor and resiny bittering hops, toward a drier, slightly earthy and warming finish. Lots of bitter grapefruity flavor throughout and some grassiness, but needs some more Belgian yeast character.

Pours a translucent golden amber with a large bubbly/foamy/rock off white lacing head. Aroma of fresh hops, mixed citrus, grapefruit, floral notes, some pine, Belgian yeast esters, tropical fruits, some grassy notes, bread, candy sweetness a touch of honey and some spicy/earthy notes and light alcohol. Flavors was earthy, pine, grapefruit, some banana and clove, other spices, Belgian yeast, hops, hop bitterness is there yet smooth. On the dry side and very hoppy in both aroma and flavor. This does get more complex as it airs out and you spend more time with it. Try this one young while the hops are still fresh and take your time with it to soak in the complexity of flavors.
