3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopdog (7732) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2013
22oz bottle. Poured a black color with an off white head. Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, creme, and roasty. I would classify the coffee on the medium side and not overly in your face (which I actually like in my coffee beers).

Pours unclear dark coffee with a creamy beige head. The aroma brings sweet chocolate coffee and espresso and vanilla, so nice in the nose. The flavor brings chocolate, light bitter malts, and light vanilla on a lighter creamy body, so nice on the palate.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 joeneugs (2176) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 1, 2012
22 oz. bottle from City Beer. It pours dark brown with a shrinking brown head. The aroma is outstanding with strong, sweet coffee, fudgy chocolate and subdued caramel and toffee backbone. The coffee aspect is not overdone. I don’t get any stale spent coffee grounds, just fresh brewed coffee. The chocolate, caramel and toffee round it out nicely. The flavor is just as good. Very sweet up front with most of the coffee roast coming midway and late on the palate. The body is very full, and the alcohol is felt more than tasted. If you like sweeter coffee drinks, you will love this. Great beer.

Aroma of roasted coffee beans flows from the bottle upon opening and is followed by hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and slight booziness. Taste is chocolate malt, coffee, cocoa, nuttiness, and dark fruit. Smooth finish with palatable espresso bitterness and chocolate flavors lingering. Great for winter, and all other seasons!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 peteinSD (997) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 23, 2012
’12 bottle I think. Black pour with a quickly fading slick of tan foam and steady carbonation. Aroma is dark roasted coffee, rich fudge-like chocolate, expresso, and clean, dry bitter chocolate. Taste is dominated by roasted coffee and expresso with chocolate malt and a clean finish that presents with some sweeter malt characteristics including light raisin. Clean and semi-soft mouthfeel. Intense, imperialized Schwarzbier. Great beer.
