Bottle, from the inner sanctum of the cellar of the infamous timmcd’s cellar. Utterly black gear oil, walnut colored head, sticky lace. Aroma malt, raisin, fig, black currant, burnt sugar, cookies, plums and cherries. Taste is cookies, jam, burnt sugar, cookies, currants, cherry pie, chocolate. The spruce comes in on the end, with a hint of resin and mint. Palate is rich, thick, carbonation soft, nitro-like. Unreal.

Bottle thanks to Bill. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is a strong roasted malt, oak, vanilla. Medium body, sweet vanilla, light roast, wood, booze, and light dry finish. Very good.

The beer is black with a quarter inch of tan head. The aroma offers some light roast, hints of pine. Relatively light (at least compared to the other stouts we drank that day) with sufficient carbonation. Decent flavor - certainly drinkable and enjoyable. A tad sweet with some chocolate notes. Simple and straightforward. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 07-03-2012

Bottle thanks to maltomeal. Black with no head. Nose is floral, wild, fir. Taste is a bit chocolate, fir, syrup. Thick and chewy. Not bad.

651mL thanks to savnac. Near ink pour with a mega beige head. Creamy head with mega lace. Nose is spicy chocolate, vanilla, sweet cocoa, slight fruit. Some sweet berries. Taste is dry, bitter, a bit ashy/dirty. Still mega dry and ashy. Just not a lot of creaminess. Pretty abrasive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of GT2. Served in a Midnight Sun goblet. Pours near black with a good light tan head. No real lacing. Nose has a touch of spruce and pine with some chocolate and roast in the background. Flavor has some spruce and moderate roast. Bit of dark chocolate. Slightly bitter. Medium-full body. Pretty good.

Bottle: Poured a thick black with tan colored head. Aroma is mild spruce. Taste is thick sweet sticky roasted malts with more spruce bite.

Bottled provided by Jay by way of savnac. Thanks for the ticks gentlemen! Pours a sense black with some brown hues. Nose is earthy, juniper in particular. Taste is familiar, but I can’t put my finger on it. Not much spruce in flavor, there is a little pine, but it’s focused mostly on chocolate, smoke, and heavy malt. Mouthfeel is a little thin, low carbonation, and a moderate finish. Pretty nice beer actually, happy to have a chance to try this.
