COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alaska’s Most Wanted Series.

First brewed as part of our 2011 World Tour series, MOSCOW Rye Russian Imperial Stout is a hefty, opaque black liquid that pours slowly and soulfully into your snifter. A high percentage of spicy rye and roasted dark malts create a dense, chewy yet elegant winter wonderland of flavors. And from AK we say: Let it Snow…in Moscow.

Bottle. Moderate toasted cereal and molasses for the malt, light to moderate resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with a hint of tar in the background. Head is small, frothy turning wispy, brown with good slippery lacing and good legs and is mostly diminishing. Color is just about black. Flavor starts lightly to oderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately bittersweet and lightly acidic. Palate is full, creamy, with a soft carbonation, and a chewy and sticky finish. Everything about this Imperial Stout is spot on, Bold in the right places and nothing offensive about it.

Spicy and fruity, yet dark roasted and bitter at the same time. Lots going on - a little abrasive, perhaps, but a good brew overall (if a bit expensive).

Shared by Maek at the Craft Beer Picnic. An inky pitch black pour with a ruddy rusty head. 11% a bit boozy, very savoury with a bitter rich dark chocolate(80-90%cacao), slightly chalky taste , very rich, candied plums & pitted fruits with some roasty coffee notes. Quite complex. Wonderful. Boozy but good.

bomber, lots of rich flavors, very thick but the alcohol is well hidden, the rye isn’t noticable and couldnt really taste it, your typical above average stout

Pours a solid black with a tan head and lacing. It has a rich aroma of dark malt, toast, spicy rye, and some alcohol. The flavor is rich malt and some toast and coffee with a spicy eye finish over a heavy body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle. Pours jet blac like a good Impy stout should. Forms a thick tan colored head and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, spice with a hint of bourbon? Taste is sweet first, chocolate, malt. Finishes with the perfect amount of bitterness. Full bodied, really creamy. Not much carbonation. Excellent! I could sip this all night.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 1/31/2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense dark brown head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, spicy rye, smoke, raisin, plum, light char, and roast/smokey earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, rye, and light-moderate dark fruit notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, spicy rye, smoke, raisin, plum, light char, and roast/smokey earthiness. Fair amount of roast/smokey bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, dark bread, spicy rye, toast, smoke, light char, and roast/smokey earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of big dark/roasted malt, rye, and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very creamy, slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent rye imperial stout. All around great complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt, rye, and light-moderate dark fruit flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
