COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alaska’s Most Wanted Series.

First brewed as part of our 2011 World Tour series, MOSCOW Rye Russian Imperial Stout is a hefty, opaque black liquid that pours slowly and soulfully into your snifter. A high percentage of spicy rye and roasted dark malts create a dense, chewy yet elegant winter wonderland of flavors. And from AK we say: Let it Snow…in Moscow.

Bottle thanks to Ira, thanks man! Pour is wicked dark, viscous black with a ring of tan foam. Aroma and flavor loaded with smooth roasty malt, light spice, light dark chocolate, and smooth as silk. Really enjoyed this one.

This is one thick, opaque beer. Very viscous liquid that thickly coated the sides of the glass. Thin galaxy of bubbles for a head. Big nose of chocolate and alcohol. Chewy flavors of chocolate and caramel with some ash and roasty grains. Great mouthfeel. Really nice imperial stout.

Bottle courtesy of GT2. Served in a Midnight Sun goblet. Pours near black with a short mocha head. Nose has quite a bit of roast along with some ash. Strong roast and a bit of chocolate. Flavor has quite a bit of ash. Medium body. Slightly viscous. Ashy and dry. A bit bitter. Not a huge fan.

651mL thanks to savnac. Ink pour with small Martian red foam. Nose is weaker. Small soy but muted overall. Taste is mega mega bitter and super dry. No creaminess. Very sharp and ashy to the max. A bit disappointed. Too abrasive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Poured a thick black with a thick light malt brown head. Aroma is dark chocolate. Taste is a rich dark chocolate with coffee note. There a nice spice finish on the tongue.

On tap at Fredfest 2012. Pours black with a modest tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a thick dark molasses and rye flavor that sticks to the palate. Lots of chocolate. You almost need a spoon to consume it, but it’s bloody good.

Thanks to savnac for sending me this guy, really been looking forward to this. Pours a deep black with no head. Typical look for a Midnight Sun stout. Nose is sweet with a kick of rye. There is also some chocolate, a little dark fruit, and a little oak. Flavor is exceptionally charred, it is a kinda dominant. Some more chocolate and heavy malt and eye. A little thinner than Beserker or Bar Fly but still coats the palate nicely. Has a nice long finish and has light carbonation. A solid RIS, probably my third favorite from them. Would like the rye to come through a little more, but it’s still a solid imperial stout.

courtesy of honkyak4, thanks! one of the thickest, blackest, most viscous pours i’ve seen in quite a while, looks thicker than marshal z! not much head but a decent brown layer. the taste is good, though a bit one dimensional, roast, roast and more roasty tye here. pretty good, but doesnt keep my attention for more than a normal pour. overall a very hearty and warming stout. skipped dinner cause of this badboy, lol!

Dark black in color, clear with a thin tan head. Big Hops forward and chocolate aroma. Tons of alcohol and nice crisp finish this was over the top coffee and chocolate flavors and blended well.
