COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alaska’s Most Wanted Series.

First brewed as part of our 2011 World Tour series, MOSCOW Rye Russian Imperial Stout is a hefty, opaque black liquid that pours slowly and soulfully into your snifter. A high percentage of spicy rye and roasted dark malts create a dense, chewy yet elegant winter wonderland of flavors. And from AK we say: Let it Snow…in Moscow.

Hopped_Silly (418) - California, USA - JUN 11, 2013
2013 release. Poured into a snifter at room temp. Thick, black pour, with a thin, dark brown head that lasts through out the time in the glass. Deep, complex layers of perfectly roasted grain, dark dried fruit, roasted nuts, almond husk, dark chocolate, soy, and bitter coffee. 11% alcohol is well concealed by the intense flavors. A hint of sweetness, though overall, its definitely on the drier side. Low carbonation, with a viscous med-plus body. Long, mildly bitter finish echoing the above mentioned flavors. Awesome stuff. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...

This is up there with Speedway! Coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, coco, rye bready smell, incredible thick motor oil appearance and look head highlights are coco brown and the taste is a milky chocolate/coffee, with that rye/bitter coffee taste that lingers after the swallow. Great kick to it with 11% ABV! This stout is fantastic!

Bottle. Black with a creamy light brown head. Chocolate bread, cherry, roasted grain, and light citrus aroma and taste with a chalky chocolate and berry finish and a full bodied sticky palate.

"Most Wanted Series" bomber from Jane?s Beer Store. Nose is chocolate, hints of anise and smoke, along with some bready rye. Black syrupy body with a big cinnamon tan head. Flavor is rye, chocolate, and light smoke.

Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe as "most wanted". Pours thick and black with a dark tan smear. Aroma is very dark malt, but there does seem to be rye spice. It is oh so full bodied. Full bodied +. Flavor is dark thick treacle, with rye notes (what are notes? Ask Merlin). The flavors are so intense that my head reels. It’s like drinking liquid black bread. With treacle and the black bread is clearly rye bread. Deep breath. It’s frickin flavorful. I cannot comprehend this ale. So I had some beer before this one. Damn good thing. Sort of like vaccination. Doing this beer cold might be fatal! Ok. Enough fun. It’s a really heavy duty beer. If it were BA it would be super killer. If the bourbon would be detectable. Collapse in uproarious laughter at this point.

Bottle. Pours with a inky black hued body with a large and retentive brown head that leaves great lace. Aromas are strong with tobacco, earthy, spicy and bitter chocolate. Freshly baked bread, moderate esters. Flavors are astringent and ashy, tobacco, bitter chocolate. Well hidden alcohol. Not sweet despite the massive body. Viscous and creamy mouthfeel.

Bomber into a tulip. Pours black with medium brown head. Nose is tobacco, roast, rye. Flavor is rich with bread, ash, roast - not all that sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for an imperial stout. Overall average.

22 oz. bottle, Alaska’s Most Wanted- Pours inky black with a forced very small dark tan head that reduces to a collar. Aroma is the typical dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, maybe rye. The taste is chocolate milk, creamy as hell, roasted malts, milk duds. Body is very thick, it feels like ink in my mouth, carbonation is low. Overall this is smooth, very drinkable, no harshness at all, very good.

Always like to try stuff from this fearless brewer. This was a bomber of the 2013 release. Pours black and thick, with a brown head that has fades quickly. Aroma is really nice dark chocolate, malt, vanilla dried fruit and alcohol. Flavor does not live up to the intensity of the aroma, however. It is mainly relatively subdued roasted malt, hints of dark chocolate, and maybe I get some rye; not really so sure about that. Very balanced. Mouthfeel is slightly thick and velvety, I like it. Carbonation is low. Finish is moderately sweet with all the flavors holding up for a while. Overall this is good, but I guess I was expecting to be more impressed, especially for the price.
