4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 Hopped_Silly (248) - California, USA - JUN 11, 2013
2013 release. Poured into a snifter at room temp. Thick, black pour, with a thin, dark brown head that lasts through out the time in the glass. Deep, complex layers of perfectly roasted grain, dark dried fruit, roasted nuts, almond husk, dark chocolate, soy, and bitter coffee. 11% alcohol is well concealed by the intense flavors. A hint of sweetness, though overall, its definitely on the drier side. Low carbonation, with a viscous med-plus body. Long, mildly bitter finish echoing the above mentioned flavors. Awesome stuff.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Mrnoluv (67) - long beach, California, USA - JUN 8, 2013
This is up there with Speedway! Coffee, dark fruit, chocolate, coco, rye bready smell, incredible thick motor oil appearance and look head highlights are coco brown and the taste is a milky chocolate/coffee, with that rye/bitter coffee taste that lingers after the swallow. Great kick to it with 11% ABV! This stout is fantastic!

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 bhensonb (9093) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe as "most wanted". Pours thick and black with a dark tan smear. Aroma is very dark malt, but there does seem to be rye spice. It is oh so full bodied. Full bodied +. Flavor is dark thick treacle, with rye notes (what are notes? Ask Merlin). The flavors are so intense that my head reels. It’s like drinking liquid black bread. With treacle and the black bread is clearly rye bread. Deep breath. It’s frickin flavorful. I cannot comprehend this ale. So I had some beer before this one. Damn good thing. Sort of like vaccination. Doing this beer cold might be fatal! Ok. Enough fun. It’s a really heavy duty beer. If it were BA it would be super killer. If the bourbon would be detectable. Collapse in uproarious laughter at this point.

Freshly baked bread, moderate esters. Flavors are astringent and ashy, tobacco, bitter chocolate. Well hidden alcohol. Not sweet despite the massive body. Viscous and creamy mouthfeel.

Bomber into a tulip. Pours black with medium brown head. Nose is tobacco, roast, rye. Flavor is rich with bread, ash, roast - not all that sweet. Mouthfeel is a bit thin for an imperial stout. Overall average.
