Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy amber with a creamy near-white head. Aroma of light bourbon with some slight wood notes. Med + body. Flavor? Strangely it does taste like a wheat wine! Thereís a little sweetness, but also oak and a little rye. Itís actually quite delicate. Heat is essentially non-existent. Potentially deadly, but entirely marvelous.

On tap at Final Gravity. Pours Light amber with a nice beige head and a sourish wheat aroma. Thete is a hearty wheat and rye flavor with a warm whiskey. Itís interesting how the rye whiskey actually imparts a rye bitternessto theoverall flavor.

Sampled at Seattle International Beer Fest 2014 (delayed rate). Super hazy, super-cloudy amber. Little to no head. Sticky toffee / fruity nose, with a woodsy vanilla. Slightly boozy flavor, but not too bad -- brings a bit of an herbal note. Sticky toffee runs through the flavor, and boy, this one will knock you on your back without you knowing it. Some earthiness from the rye, but this is generally just a big, thick sticky, gooey mess.

Bottle thanks to Shig. Pours orange amber off white head. Nose/taste of rye, whiskey, oak, candi sugar, butterscotch, earthy and grassy citrus and wheat/banana. Full bodied.

Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Bottle traded from AkAndy (many thanks). Shared with friends. Aroma is wheat, grassy hop, vanilla and caramel. Pours golden with a nice wispy head and lingering lace. Taste is butterscotch, earthy hop, vodka, wheat, and vanilla. No real sign of the alcohol other than the barrel tastes. Still a little fresh but I donít know how much better this would be with age. A little off.

Hazy amber, sweet canned peach nose, similar elements on the palate. Soft, fruity, malt-forward but reasonably dry finish.
