3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
"big bretty aroma, with some yeast, wood and a touch of hops. big white head and a cloudy orange body. lively feel, but a touch watery in the finish. the flavor was quite nice - the belgian yeast was dominant, as was the brett. you could barely tell it had spent time in cab barrels but the effect was nice. i’d have liked to see the hops play a bigger role, but they were almost completely overshadowed. good stuff...not quite worth the $."

22 ounce bomber. A really nice hazy yellow classic belgian ipa with a frothy white head. The brett comes through nice. A very well built beer.

22 oz. bottle shared by foppa78 at Dark Lord Day 2011- thanks again, Mat! Pours a cloudy orange-golden color with a finger-thick white head. Aroma of citrusy cascade hops, brett, sweet malts, candi sugar, and grapefruit peel. Flavor of bretty funk, citrusy hops, pepper and herbs, and some resin. Medium-bodied, with a funky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Very interesting collaboration and cross-style pollination here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
DLD’11, the good ones just keep coming. Huge thanks for sharing this Matt! Hazy orange-ish pour with nice white head, aroma has big notes of citrusy hops with lots of grapefruit, balanced by the dry funk of brett. Taste is a mix of sweet citrus, drying and funky brett, with a bitter and drying finish that has some peppery and piny notes to it. Great stuff, wouldn’t think it would work but the brett and hops compliment each other well.

Thanks to Sarah for sharing this one!
A-pours a dark golden amber color with a tight white head that is slightly bubbly on top. very good retention and a thick lace is left behind.
S-the nose is a little light, hints of brett and yeast up front, just a hint of dry oak comes in next. Floral hops and a touch of pear towards the back.
T-the taste follows the nose but isn’t quite as fruity. light taste of brett, hints of funk, a touch of sourness and some dry oakiness. Floral hops make up the back accompanied by notes of pear with a touch of spicy clove. The brett continues to linger. As this warms, soft golden fruits, notes of booze and hop bitterness seem to become more present in the finish.
M-this has a medium to light body with a soft smooth feel on the palate. the carbonation is light and it falls down the back of the throat.
D-this is lighter in body and very tasty. it is easy to drink and has nice elements of brett and hop all in one beer.
Had about six months later:
A-pours a hazy dark amber color with a billowy white head and bit time retention.
S-a mix of brett and citrusy hops with light notes of yeast. juicy orange and appricot hops add balance.
T-brett and spice really dominate the flavor. juicy oranges give a hop presence with notes of appricot and virtually no hop bitterness. the hops are brighter in the nose and the brett seems slightly muddled in the flavor and make it somewhat bland.
M-good medium body, soft feel on the palate with a low carbonation and lightly dry.
D-sweet and tasty but brett is a little strong in the taste but the citrusy flavors are still nice with no bitterness so easy drinking.

Bomber from Eric. Yes, Eric is a stone cold righteous dude. Poured cloudy with a tight head. Nose of sour cherry and Brett, super funky (up to James Brown’s extremely high standards). Tasted of subtle hops and bitterness but balanced and dry. “He stares at it and grins.” -James Brown

Tasted from a 22oz bomber bottle obtained in a trade. Pours hazy but bright orange with a thick, very smooth off-white head that recedes to smooth lace. The nose is primarily Brett funk and barnyard with some citrus, light hops, and vinous notes. The flavor is Brett funk and citrus up front, moving to lightly bitter hops, and finishing with more barnyard and horse blanket. The body is medium with lively carbonation and a long barnyard and citrus finish.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Kind of an off beer, but good. Aroma has dry grass and very light citrus. Flavor is dry as well, but more hops here. Brett yeast is evident in the aroma and the flavor, which increases the dryness and causes a a dry finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma:Sour Belgian yeast and hops in the aroma. Also a little wine.
Appearance:Murky, pale tangerine in color.
Taste:Rather subtle in flavor, including some wood flavors from the barrel. It has a little sourness from the brett. A little red wine flavor in the foretaste. The piney hops rule the aftertaste.
Palate:Very smooth, light body, just a little astringency on the back of the throat.
Overall:Great Belgian IPA, retains the hops even after a bit of time in the bottle.
