A pungent Belgian smelling, fresh and spicy tasting, West coast style IPA. The thick light tan head barely fades over the crystal clear deep amber body. Aroma is intense Brett yeast output, grapefruit, and something mildly metalic. Dry sharp jab on the tongue and fizzy bubbles in the throat. Tastes mainly of lemon/grapefruit, tannins, and tons of hop goodness. Very easy to drink, despite the ultra-strong mix of flavors.

Shared by a generous RB at tpd975’s throwdown in December, 2009. Pours a hazy caramel color with thin white head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of brett, barnyard, light floral esters, honey, yeast, grain. Flavor is about the same with additional notes of honey, caramel, stronger brett notes. Medium body with a lightly funky finish.

Orangish pour. Aroma is funky with some nice spices and caramel. Flavor is again funky, not really sour...but funky. I get some belgian spices and yeast too. Very unique beer that is certainly worth seeking out.

courtesy of BA trade. pours golden, thick white head. Aroma lots of funks and brett, yeasty aroma, hints of oak/wood and raisins. Flavors, brett, white grapes, hints of oak and lots of fruit goodness. Finish keeps a strong white grape/raisins palate. Just interesting to see how the whole IPA style mixes with the brett yeasty approach and the addition of oak. I get a grape/white raisin mouthfeel that reminded me of wine barrels.

DLD’11, the good ones just keep coming. Huge thanks for sharing this Matt! Hazy orange-ish pour with nice white head, aroma has big notes of citrusy hops with lots of grapefruit, balanced by the dry funk of brett. Taste is a mix of sweet citrus, drying and funky brett, with a bitter and drying finish that has some peppery and piny notes to it. Great stuff, wouldn’t think it would work but the brett and hops compliment each other well.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2009 "Foggy" gold pour with a beautiful, frothy head that just will not quit. Aroma is bursting with floral hop notes and a nice fruity sweetness. Flavor is extremely well balanced ... a ’ying yang’ of earthy, spicy hops, and rich Belgian sweetness. I cannot readily detect the cab-sauv effects, but perhaps the slight ’fruity’ notes are where that comes through. Nicely carbonated, and smooth despite that ’liveliness’. 8% is a wonderful slot for this style. Overall, one of the best Belgian IPAs I have encountered.

bottle sample from the bartender at Toronado San Diego as they called "last call" man i cant complain with this! A free beer and it was a good one! murky hazy orange with a sudsy white head. musty hops and oaky notes with some brett funk in there as well. more belgian on the nose than Ipa, at least it seemed to me. hoppy, musty, cheese and somewhat bitter flavors with alot of yeast twang. long woody finish. A belgian Ipa that is more belgain that it is IPA-cool! some green hop flavors on the finish that seemed to dry it out a bit as it warmed. Cool brew!

Bottled. A slightly hazy golden beer with a huge yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrus, brettanomyces, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus, brettanomyces, malt, and over ripe fruits, leading to a lightly tart finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
